It's not a falsity that T-Mac, Kobe, Dirk, Vince... all have fadeaways as their go to move. They could have called it signature moves if they wanted to, but it's inaccurate. What did you expect from a feature called go to moves? But it is a falsity to market the whole feature as go to moves yet you dont have everyones move, like i said, i was unaware ever star player used a fadeaway as a "go to move"



What feature is half implemented? "go to moves"...because there are about 4 actualy players that have a legit move in the game, the rest are "signature" fadeaways.... and FIBA (by their own admition)

Please show me where im trying to convince someone to buy another product?

This is pathetic. It's as if people are reading what they want to. Selective reading, that's it...

As many times as people focus on how the implementation isn't up to snuff about Live, they are either met with:

1) Oh my god you killed my first born!

2) Why can't 2kers just stay in their own forum?

3) The hate on all things EA continue.

It's amazing how such a simple concept becomes an "us against them" thing.

Someone please answer me this: can EA and the NBA Live series evolve this feature?

Let's try and get the discussion going AWAY from the negativity.

Didn't specifically say that you were doing that, but you did post in a thread telling people not to buy Live...

It's amazing how such a simple concept becomes an "us against them" thing.

It's not an us for them thing...I'm going to get 2k over Live, but some people's posts on here are ridiculous and need to be called out. For people to suggest that Live 08 is no improvement on Live 07 or that go to moves is just a marketing feature is just plain wrong.

Someone please answer me this: can EA and the NBA Live series evolve this feature?

Well most of the go to moves actually looked pretty close to the actual ones. For next year, Live has to try to add more signature shots, moves, and dribbles. It's good that Live has taken a step away from being such trash, and looks to follow in the footsteps of NHL and FIFA.

If your intent is solely to call out people, then do that. However, you should know you're missing the basis of the discussion. We can't have a proper discussion if people are going to make vague comments. Lay down specifics.

The comments here are solely based on the disappointment of the much advertised "Go-to" moves. Again, as I've written yet people have simply glossed over... the signature shots don't seem be complete... wouldn't you want them to at least finish that before adding something else?

Yup, Live is surely much better than it was last year... but IMHO, that's not saying much. Reminds me A LOT of Live 2004... the games are similar it's painfully obvious to me... and I loved 2004... back when it was released in 2003.

It's definitely a building block... but people time and time again want game companies to get one feature down before adding another. How is this any different?

It'd be great if they could get a ton of signature shots in like in 2k, but they clearly are focussed on Superstars. To be honest, I'd rather them nail players like Dirk and Kobe than have signature shots of Eddie House and Slava Medvedenko.

If you notice... Their money.. is in quotations... that means i was quoting what someone was saying regarding live.

I also notice you conviently did not quot the whole sentence, which talks about being duped in to buying a game based on the marketing of a feature... therefore, there are ones who would have "wasted" there money by buying live.
Selective reading does seem to be the status quo around here...

I'm pretty much done with the back and forths,and dual of wits, it proves nothing and the points have been made here in abundance about this particular topic.

Plenty of people have said that they are dissapointing because they all look exactly the same.

EXACTLY.

Even the go-to moves are very, VERY similar. If you didn't have Dwayne Wade flash up on the screen, it would be much more difficult to tell who the animation is from.

The moves should be distinguishable from the player, not compliment the player's likeness.

I'll give you an example... remember that Jordan commercial where they show people of all different ages mimicking him? Sticking their tongue out, doing that memorable jump... shrugging their shoulders.... Do you need to actually physically see Michael Jordan there to understand that is him? No, because his movements are a big part of what make him special.

There are a large number of players in the NBA like that... and that's what I was expecting with Go To moves. Tony Parker is probably one of the few I really do like... why? Because that one handed tear drop is Tony Parker. That's his thing. But how many of those individualistic moves are captured here? Not as many as I would like. The NBA is full of individuals who are unique. IMO Live didn't capture that as well as they should have.

Having "subtle" differences in turn around jumpshots isn't all it's about. There's so much more, and (again, IMO) the Live team really didn't develop something that could have separated it from other games.

It's almost as if people convince themselves that this is "good." When you have another game pushing the envelope, how is this good??

Are you just happy that you have a sampling of what 2k is offering in terms of signature style?

This is a JOKE. J-O-K-E. Don't give me this garbage about subtleties and what not. All it takes is a player lifting their leg on a fadeaway and all of a sudden "EA is on point yo!"

I mean... seriously, it's as if people are looking for a reason to give them credit on these half-*** attempts at "features" in a game. Just like they included the FIBA teams... that play with NBA rules on NBA courts. Whoopie.



Ok coco, it was cute the first time but now it's getting old. Don't you want Live to actually be the top tier basketball game it should be?? This sort of **** is something I'd expect from NBA 08 by Sony, not EA ******' Sports man.... this isn't some two bit developer who can't BRING IT. These Go-to Moves look like they were thrown in just to throw them in. Add another bullet on that feature list homey!

Someone else mentioned it and they made a point. It's no wonder we kept seeing Tony Parker's runner, Dirks Fadeaway, Gilbert's step back and Kobe's turnaround over and over and over... the rest of them look almost exactly the same....

Subtleties my ***. Oh wow, Kobe's leg kicks 10 degrees lower than Dirk's... WOW! That's real **** right there....

Give me a break.

If you're going to throw shots my way at least quote me.

This is just more pseduo-intellectual sugar coating of "why my game is better than yours."

It's like some of you are offended that some people may like Live (or its features) for whatever reasons they may be.

Anyone who holds loyalty to a certain game is fooling themselves. Money wasted. Pay for what's the best. Isn't that what it's about?

That being said, this gimmick doesn't spur me to go after the game anymore than I was planning to after seeing all the other nonsense that Live has implemented just so they could brand NBA Live '08 on the cover (cause really it's NBA Live 97 with 11 years worth of useless features and gimmicks).

You're absolutely right. It's a shame some can't differentiate the two.

If people were less touchy about "their game" they would see that.
