How to make Live 09 "Next Gen"

Overall I am very pleased with Live 08, but here are some things that I want to see in Live 09 to make it a true "next generation" game.

First, stop player's arms from going through each other and stop the ball from going through players and the rim as well. For instance in skate. when pushing to go faster, if you come up to a curb the animation automatically changes so that your foot goes onto the curb instead of going through it, or if your skater has his arms extended and you hit a wall, his hand will retract around the wall and cause you to either fall or move the arm so the player wouldn't fall. I'd like to see something like this incorporated into Live to prevent a player's arm from going through another players arm when going for a steal.

Going off of what I just said above, get rid of all canned animations that have an animation for the defender and the offensive player. This usually happens when there is mid-air contact in 08. Try to make contact situations as procedural as possible, kinda like Natural Motion technology.

Try to make the ball more separate from the player like what FIFA did last year. If the dunk animation is going to have the ball go through the rim, don't let it, have the player get stuffed by an inanimate object. Dont allow warping to occur from one hand to the other or allow the ball to warp up to the players hands in the middle of the dribble because it is time to shoot.

Make the backboard an object to prevent the ball from going through it and player's arms from traveling through it. Again the skate. animation system wouldn't allow that to happen.

That is basically it, I probably failed to get my point across since I'm pretty exhausted right now but Ill try to explain more if someone has questions. It is not only skate. that didn't let animations cut through objects. San Andreas had it as well when you were turning on a motorcycle. So i dunno, what do you guys think Live needs to be considered "Next Generation" for 09.

    A couple other things.

Get rid of the trivia before the game and when shooting around, have the rest of the team shooting around with your chosen player as well.

more crowd involvement and presentation. and please EA next year have all of the 1st and 2nd round draft picks! Theres no reason to not have them even if the roster was made in july. Most picks are signed within the 1st couple weeks after the draft anyways.

Also better shot animations and quit making my stars miss layups. It doesnt happen in the nba

You've got the right idea, JaoSming. I want to expand on it.

Using some kind of variable animation system, one animation could look like many different animations depending on the proximity of objects. For instance, when performing a layup the position of the player's arm could move to protect the ball from a shot-contending defender or even the backboard/rim, depending on how close that object is. This could actually be implemented as a "next-gen freestyle air" where moving one of the analog sticks could change the position of the arm in mid air, or even change the animation to a double clutch layup or a teardrop/floater.
