LIVE 08 did get the lighting right...

if any of you are watch the Lakers Rockets game. you'll see how dark it is in the crowd. as i said a well back. the nba is doing this with most it's arena to get the more focus on the game rather than the crowd (celebrities perhaps)...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

Every one of their stadiums is pitch black passed the first few rows for reasons other than being authentic.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I'm all for it since it helps the framerate.

Which is sad that they can't have correct lighting and a smooth framerate when they have absolutely nothing but the players doing anything in the arena.

I think they did a hell of a job with the lighting. I watched the Lakers Rockets game and I though it was right on. I have the NBA League pass and the Warriors Jazz game was on and I turned to that and thought the same. I think they did a great job. Then I put in 2K and I thought that while the crowd does look great it didnt look like a NBA crowd. Its very bright in 2K's stadiums. Not that thats a bad thing but, I think Live nailed it with the lighting in the areans.

Couldn't agree more with this post. I absolutely love the lighting in this game, not to mention the sound. NBA Live 08 rocks.

I was really surprised watching those games last night. At first I thought EA screwed this up but after watching the games maybe they did get it correct as the lighting in those games on tv wasn't very bright.

to be honest, I never thought a basketball game was bright, every game I watch all the games seem s bit dull..

I watched the same games on TV last night and I could see well past the first three rows. I guess I wasn't looking through EA glasses though.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that. I didn't remember the laker area being that dark in the stands before. Maybe EA Got an inside tip on that for this year.

The Lakers' arena has been dark for awhile.

It sure doesn't look like it and it's nowhere near the level of what goes on in 2k8. Anyway, the arena lighting is not accurate at all and it just happens that the Lakers have their lighting dark while Live has every arena pitch black because they have performance issues.
