i just picked this up. i was getting tired of 2k and heard good things about live. I thought one of this games strongest points were the graphics. they look very washed out, and super jaggy. this is just crazy to me. At my walmart that had the 360 verson on one of there tvs and it looked fantastic. I like the gameplay but the graphics are killing me.

What type of TV do you have and what video connections are you using? I have a 50" Panasonic plasma (1080P) connected to my PS3 w/a Cables to Go HDMI cable and the graphics are sharp/crisp w/vibrant colors (no jaggies at all). -

I have a 32'' inch samsung 1080i hdtv, hooked up with component cables. set on 108i resolution. Im really enjoying the game. as a whole it may not be better than 2k8 but it offers a different feel for those of us who need a change of pace.Comment

Not to be hating on the PS3 (I have a 360 and a PS3), but I believe the problems you're experiencing are due to the PS3 version of the game.
The culprit is EA, they rush ported this game and the PS3 version suffers for it. I noticed these problems from the PS3 version of the game:
-washed out colors
-framerate chops up during time outs (closeups on players)
-jaggies all over the place
I recently read an article about game's true resolutions which may explain the jaggies. It's pretty technical, but check out the post from "arwin"... Here's the link.

I had 2K8 and exchanged it for Live. IMO, Live has much better graphics (even at 720P on my HDTV) but 2k8's gameplay is more realistic. To me, both games have their strengths and weaknesses.Comment
