Ok so playing as Diop is one thing, cuz at least he rebounds and blocks shots.

What if your team is the Nets and you get stuck playing as Jason Collins!!!!

He starts and averages 20 Minutes Per Game

These Are His Averages:

Points: 1.2
Rebounds: 2.5
Blocks: 0.17
Steals: .33
Assists: 0.6

Seriously nobody fills a box score quite as pathetic as Jason Collins but he is a very good low post defender. Imagine having to be him though for an entire game. Offensively all you do is set back screens for Carter and RJ and defensively you can't even help with the boards.

Don't have it on PS3, just will have to wait later for the 360 update....

If they can unlock this, they can unlock the accessories editing on players...

At least that will benefit majority of the purchased buyers.

That's why I think the mode would be extremely limiting. Getting 10 of your friends together at the same time AND everyone agreeing to play the appropriate role? It's doable, but that'd be kinda hard I'd think. It'd take a lot of communication, that's for sure - if you're lucky enough to get people willing to communicate. That's something that's hard to do in a game like Halo, let alone a sports game.

The mode where it might work best might be something like 2K8's Blacktop mode, where it's like a straight pickup game. Everyone picks who they want to be, and you might get people more willing to play within the abilities of their player (like you're forced to do when playing a pickup game on the court).

Jason collins doesnt even start, and if your job is to control the center on the nets youll be in control of Kristic/Magloire 95% of the game getting tons of open looks.

it will be about as limiting as the clan matches on all FPS's on XBL

Clans usually get together and form a tight nit group where everyone acts as a team, i see no reason why somethign similar cant happen for this.

I for one would be extremly intrested in it.

Think about you and 4 other guys roaming the country stomping mudholes in people because your running plays (without relying on shoddy a.i diagrams), and have good communication on defense.

Sure. playing as the teams "scrub" for x amount of minutes agame isnt for everyone, but total immersion is what im after.

I remmeebr back when iworked at 2k, we used to play CH 2k3 on ps2 multi taps.. 5 on 5.

it was the best gaming mooment of my entire life.
and Nobody ever complained baout who they were controlling.. you make it work... for the team. get a win. move on.

I've played 3 games so far and it was actually pretty fun. It's just something totally different. I can see were it could be no fun at all. In one game some dude kept jacking shots with Raja Bell all game, but me (Steve NAsh) stopped giving him looks. But I can also see how it could REALLY be a great time if you got 4 other guys that you know or game with. One some one game we had all 5 guys communicating and calling out defensive math-ups and for open looks on the wing. It was quite fun. Nothing like i've ever played before online in a sports game (NBA Live/2K - 2003 to 2008). It's to have an option to play the game an entirely different way.

Just so you know, I'm not disagreeing w/you. I think it is a cool feature. Just as we used to think it'd be a cool feature to have an online 11vs11 football game. The difference between playing on a multitap is that you're playing in person - sort of like playing on the court. If you have some idiot hoisting three point range shots, you can make them accountable. Online you really can't - unless, it's all about clans forming and playing each other. I'd be willing to try it myself. Just saying that once the novelty wears off, I'd wonder if it would have legs. Maybe it'll be slightly easier/more difficult than playing in a league, where everyone has to coordinate their time appropriately. I'm guessing EA's implemented it in a way that it will allow for the CPU to control teammates, so you're not forced to having to use 5 players. It's a lot easier to get four people together that will coordinate than getting ten. I'm interested to see what people say on how it plays

If you don't like the idea, why post in this thread? You are probably the minority when it comes to not liking this idea. Some of you are looking at this idea negatively when there are so many ways to work around the issues that you've thrown out there --> fantasy drafts, created players, VIP's, feedback for ballhogs, etc.

you wouldnt technically have to get 10 people...
only 4 other people.

i you play on the same team as 5 competent people, and your playing against idiots, demolishing them could be quite entertaining, you can use those games to practice plays and stuff, who knows, its really up to you.

i know what guys will do tho, alot of cherry picking for sure. but thats easy to stop...especially if all 5 guys are on the same page.

im actually getting a little wet just thinking about this right now... j/k!
