Stephensonmc, is there any way we can get Playerlock on Wii?

I know the Gamecube, Xbox, and Playstation 2 versions of NBA Live had player lock for NBA 2006, and it is in the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions. Was there a reason why it was removed from the last generation platforms? Is there anything that we as the consumers can do, or you as Content/Community Manager for EA can do?

Revisiting the Wii version, I have found that with slider adjustments you can get a decently sim game going. The only thing that is really missing is the ability to play as one player for the duration of a game. During family play I can see why it may not be that much of a priority, as the computer will automatically switch to the person you are playing with. If you have more than two players it can get a bit confusing, as you never know which of your two teammates will get the ball.

I think if you could pick a player/position before tipoff it would make it a more seamless experience. Each person would know who has the ball and who would get the ball after the pass. If the ball was passed to an AI teammate, the AI teammate would shoot (IF OPEN, drive the lane if Triggered, or pass to whomever called for the ball).

What do you think? Also, do you or have you ever used the Player Lock option on any of the Live titles? If so, what do you think of it?

    Lynsanity,

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, nothing can be done for NBA LIVE 08, but I'll foward your request right now to the producers for NBA LIVE 09 for the Wii.

Good thing is that we've recognized that there is a pretty tight NBA LIVE community on the Wii and our guys see this as an important thing.

I have 2k8 for ps3 and live for wii. There are more people online for wii. I finally played someone last sunday. i dont rememeber who I was playing but he just ran up the court shooting threes and trying to dunk. I ended up getting behing by about 10-12 at the half but came back and won by playing defense and passing the ball. It was not a bad game. I had more fun than I thought I would but I agree with Lynsanity about playerlock. The only things I would change about the Wii version is:

      1-franchise mode
      2-online and offline playerlock
      3-create a player
      4-lower the shooting percentages

Thanks for the reply and the forwarding. I think the Wii has more sports gamers than people think. I know online has been pretty big for the majority of Wii gamers that I have talked to. The first year of Wii, they were stuck playing NBA 2006 for Gamecube. This coming season will be the big one for Wii Owners.

        NCAA College Football
        Improved Madden
        Tiger Woods
NBA Live with Player Lock (Fingers Crossed)
        Fifa Soccer

NCAA College Football will be HUGE here. Nebraskans love the Huskers, so you can be certain that every Husker Loving Wii Gamer will be picking up that title. Me, I am more a basketball guy.
