Re: NBA Live 09 Custom Covers Thread!!!
Here are a few tips:
1. You need to download a template. Here's a link to Cyclones templates: http://customsportscovers.proboards1...read=46&page=1
2. Once you have the appropriate template, then you will need to find some player cuts to use for your cover.
If you make your own cut, you will need to find images that are at least 700 pixels tall. The bigger the better. I use the Lasso tool to do all of my own cuts. It takes a bit of practice and patience to make good cuts.
The easiest way is to find players that are pre-cut. That way all you have to do is copy and paste into the template. Here is a good site for cuts: http://www.o2designz.com/
3. Next you add your own effects to the cut. I use a combination of the Unsharp Mask filter, the Smudge Tool, and the Inner and Outer Glow effect on my covers. It has taken me about 4 months to finally get an effect that I really like. It is best just to play around and try different combinations until you find something that works for you.
I hope this helps.SportsCoverWorld.com

Re: NBA Live 09 Custom Covers Thread!!!
For the glow effect, select the layer that your cut is on. You can right click on the appropriate layer in the layer box and find the glow effect under Blending Options or just double click on the appropriate layer in the layer box and it will bring up the Blending Options. Once you are in the Blending Options (Layer Style) you will have a list of different blending options to choose from. I use a bit of both the Outer and Inner Glow on my covers. Make sure you select the entire tab for the Outer Glow (not just the check box). This will allow you to adjust the amount of glow you use, change the color, etc.
Good luck!SportsCoverWorld.com

Re: NBA Live 09 Custom Covers Thread!!!
For the smudge, I set the strength between 5-10%, the brush size between 5-15, zoom in once to 200% and I smugde the entire cut. I try to follow the contours of the cut when smudging. On the faces it is good to zoom in more and lower the brush size to 5 since there is more detail. Other cover makers say only to smudge the skin and not the jersey. Personally, I like the way it looks when I smudge the whole thing.
