I'm pretty impressed with this game

I have played 2k for the past few years, and did give Live a shot a couple years ago. Thought it was terrible.

But my girlfriend just bought me Live for the PS3. I'm a few games into it, and it's a pretty good game. The graphics and atmosphere are very good, and the gameplay (on Superstar, with all players +10 in both mid-range likelihood and three-point likelihood) is solid.

Maybe it's just because it's new to me, but I am enjoying this game more than 2k right now.

Not much else to say; I guess my overall message is that I am surprised at how little activity there is here for this game. Maybe everyone else, like me, gave up after the awful initial effort on next-gen?

Ha, I wouldn't go that far dribbles, but it's still painfully average.

It did at least take steps forward this year and is on the right track, just not sure if the real payoff will be this year or next year though in terms of seeing those steps turn into leaps.

That is why there is so little activity here. The dumb 2k fans (not all of them) spam up most any thread that has any discussion about the game.

It's a good improvement. I played it for a few days and enjoyed it.

I sold it, like I sold NBA 2k, because I just can't get into basketball video games anymore.

Please stop labeling people and generalyzing fans.

If people wanted to discuss NBA Live they would. Obviously there just isnt as much interest here.

Sports games in general needs alot of work and NBA Live is no exception.

I got nba live a few days before NBA 2k8 and didn't really like it. I played NBA2K8 for a couple weeks and started playing live again.It is a fun game at times with the Sig stuff. Its a game you can pop in and play. But i always go back to nbak8 as my main game. But live is Fun at times.

I'm enjoying Live more and more. I can certainly see why people enjoy 2k better, but I think Live is really the winner for me. I love the graphics and the atmosphere, and the gameplay is much better than I could have imagined.

I love the graphics. As far as atomesphere, I have seen absolutely zero personally. This game has a long way to go for 09 to be worthwhile, still hoping though.

I hope they bring it with Live 09 because at this point, its next gen effort has been worse than Madden. Only positive thing I can say about Live 08 is the commentary is pretty good.

sorry I didn't know this was a the NBA Live Positivity thread.....The op was asking about the level of activity. My response was that the reason for little activity is that obviously the OS masses aren't enjoying it. You don't like that I said it sucks, well tough. My opinion is that the game is just short of terrible. Im sick of finding a way to like nba live. I buy it to make my own decision on it, and it keeps letting me down. Didn't say theres no improvement or any of that other stuff, but for ME it sux. Do like the commentary though.

It has some good points.

But it has sooooooo many bad points that it becomes unplayable for more than a game or two every odd month.

Small example: i put it in and played as the C's v Cavs recently.

20 seonds to go...I was down one.

I put up a J with Paul Pierce...I missed.

The ball rebounded out and Ben Wallace, Z and LeBron all just stood around looking in the wrong direction...none of them went after the ball...

The ball hit the ground...I picked it up off the floor with KG and layed it in to win the game.

I mean, what a stupid way to win a game...the CPU AI all failed to even look at the ball.

There's tonnes of things like this. The AI (in parts) is badly broken.

Hopefully Mike Wang can fix.

Yea the rebounding is so infuriating in that game, so many balls still hit the floor. Plus the way the players all jump rigidly into the air adds to the rebounding mess.

So does this game look and play anything like March Madness? I hated that game but would like to give Live a shot if it plays different.
