Re: First NBA Live 09 Screenshots
Players look exactly like '08
Arena lighting is vastly improved
EDIT: Also looks like we'll be able to change sneakers this year.
None of that matters much as the player animations in '08 were as stiff as a corpse.Comment

Re: First NBA Live 09 Screenshots
The bottom line is if live 09 makes the improvements in animation from 08 to 09 like madden did then live is on the right track back to the top. I'm gonna buy it regardless. I enjoyed 08 but it did have things that begged the s@#t out of me. If they can fix those things with the animations i'll be happy. I can't see ea taking steps back from 08 so i know this year will be enen better. Alot of people bash ea games but they are really opening their ear to the community, so im sure those bugs will be addressed. I grew up on live from back in the genesis days so i'm still amped at the progress the game has made the last 15 years. Can't wait for some videos showing the improved animationsComment

Re: First NBA Live 09 Screenshots
Thing is, we know the game will look good. So these screens aren't much help right now. Thing is, we need t osee the game in motion. How well the players move and interact with defenders, how the bodies collide and bump inside. How the ball interacts with players hands and the rim.PSN: rose2kobe24Comment

Re: First NBA Live 09 Screenshots
I don't even play Live and that bugs the heck out of me. They come in here just to post the same o' nonsense. "Live Sucks", "Live looks like crap. Look at Gasol's eyelashes. They all ****ed up.", "Live is pure garbage", "2K is gonna kill Live."
Who cares? It's so damn childish. What kind of response are they looking to get? What are you really looking to get out of their posts? Do they feel better now that they bashed Live?
I just don't get where all the hatred and criticism comes from. It's really lame.
I'm done now...The screenshots look great as they always do. I'm curious to how much improvement they'll have from this point up until the game's release since they already look this good. And like everyone else said, I would like to see some videos.Comment

Re: First NBA Live 09 Screenshots
Looking at the trolling in this thread and some in the Madden section, I am kind of disappointed that the mods do not clean it up a bit more. Anyway, the pictures look impressive as always, but I am waiting for the gameplay videos to see if the series has take another step forward. I hope it has.Comment

Re: First NBA Live 09 Screenshots
You realize how early of a build it is, and there are no 2K9 screenshots, and even if they didn't improve from last year, 2K9 will NEVER be able to compete with graphics in LIVE so no on here should be talking.Comment

Wow one would think for first images, EA would at least put their BEST photos up, but these zoomed in players faces look horrific for (2009). I am not a EA basher, I just want a good game, I know they released these as the Lakers and Celtics are playing, but show me the MONEY!Comment

Re: First NBA Live 09 Screenshots
Im sure the graphics will be improved because both games dont give us final graphics shots in early releases, but Ill buy the game if they fix the physics and animations.
If it's just the same recycled trash where you spend countless hours trying to make it play decent then im passing on it another year.
I dont get why EA has to be so corporate and not personally interact with the fans that buy the games beyond the NBA Live ESPN tournament fanboys.Comment

Judging by the screenshots, the game is still obviously very early. I can nitpick all day, but there's no point in doing that with months left in the development.
I hope they have improved the animations and the way players move. That's one of my biggest gripes with Live - the players move unrealistically.Comment

None taken. I know what you guys want. It's coming guys, no worries! It just may not necessarily be here.
I don't have to tell you guys that these are super early, but that wouldn't matter anyway. We're all in the same boat here and analyze everything that comes out. That's why I love this!I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Well, I have to give it to EA for one thing - the stills look pretty nice and the player models look pretty good IMO. However, the look of the players even in the shots looks a bit off somehow - but I suppose these are early screens etc..so whatever - none the less, seeing the game in motion will be the tell. But it does seem funny how 2K, even in screenshots seemingly look the part most of the time. I have a strong feeling Live will again own the suck title this year. In a perfect world, EA's player models and grahpics + 2K's gameplay engine = greatness.Truly Blessed -Comment
