Whenever users log on to the game, the title will connect to the Internet to download data from the latest NBA games, including such details as whether a player like Kobe Bryant is taking more shots from the left or the right side of the floor and his relative success from each spot. The game will use such information to affect how the virtual Kobe Bryant plays in “NBA Live” and how he is guarded.

New feature leaked
EA plans to announce today that the latest version of its “NBA Live” game will include a constantly updated artificial intelligence.

"..and how he is guarded."
Wow, that's pretty damn cool. I'm just curious if this (specifically the AI adjustments) is for offline exhibition games or if all this stuff will get taken into account even when you're playing an opponent online. I'm sure that the roster updates and whatever else that comes with his would be available online, but I'm curious about the AI.
Either way, that's an awesome feature, and hopefully they're right and it does "change sports games forever" (meaning 2K9 and/or 2K10 includes something similar, since I'll be playing that more often).Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: New feature leaked
Well, I know guys who have played the game say that they can't talk about online features OR the ground-breaking feature. I hope this goes into the category of online features, because I don't use XBL, so this would be worthless to me and many other people.PSN: rose2kobe24Comment

Re: New feature leaked
What good would it do for online play? When two players are controlling teams, they are the AI,not the CPU.Unless you play with player lock on,then I could see it playing a part in online play, but I think it is for Offline/Dynasty.Comment

Re: New feature leaked
Wow, that feature in theory sounds incredible, but it won't mean anything if the gameplay and animations themselves are not up to par and it is only slightly more playable than last year's version. I'm curious to know just how complex (technology-wise) this feature will be, because from the sound of it (from a technological standpoint) it seems incredibly tech heavy (which is a good thing).Comment

Re: New feature leaked
The questions are coming and its probably why it took them 2 hours to explain the feature.
One thing though, it could be a worthless feature to an offline gamer depending on how its implemented
It could be great to stop people from cheesing online and abusing one player to score every time down the court, depending on how its implemented
Then again would you really want to play a season offline with your players fluctuating, or injured ....
In that kind of sense its a rating system sim built like, but that could be good or bad.Comment

Re: New feature leaked
A lot of the games I play in basketball games are Play Now games. To play an updated game, we normally have to depend on other people coming out with rosters because rosters are rarely updated by 2k and I imagine EA. Last year 2k was particularly pathetic with Gabe Pruitt being rated better than Rajon Rondo the entire seaosn. This feature forces EA to update rosters daily and ties in player tendencies to actual stats.Comment

it's usually around deadline time that I worry about correct rosters, but that's what the updates were supposed to before.
If they can get this right, more power to thme because it sounds like a ton of work went into it. We'll see though, Ill wait to see myself.Comment
