I not sure if it was live or 2k, but I'm pretty sure it was live, that had cutscenes in the franchise mode when you would cut and sign players and practises, it would be nice if they brought that back that was pretty cool.

I believe it was live 04 (or 03). Man, that game had a crazy amount of cutscenes, and even the cutscenes themselves were crazy.
During franchise you had cutscenes for when you practice, when you sign, re-sign, trade, release or retire a player. It was pretty cool when a big name player comes to your team, and they show a cutscene of him coming into your locker room, being greeted by your players.
In-game there was also a good amount of cutscenes, but some were just silly funny. I remember one where the bench players play a trick on their coach, where the players say 'hi' to the camera or something like that, and a few others that I can't quite remember. After the 2nd quarter, there's even a cutscene of one of your players signing an autograph on the way to the locker room, then being reprimanded by the coach lol!
But the thing I liked most about it is that during the 4th quarter, you see cutscenes that you don't normally see during the other 3 quarters (as far as I know). An example is players arguing with the refs when a foul is called on them. I can't really explain it, but somehow the mood is different during the 4th quarter because of these extra cutscenes, like the intensity is notched up a bit. Plus, you don't get the silly cutscenes anymore.
The weird thing is, when live 05 came, which in my opinion is the best current-gen live to date (haven't played next-gen), there seemed to be no cutscenes at all! -

It was Live 04...man,that game was great...the 10 man mo-cap was an inovation at the time.I loved that game.
Yep,it had Lots of cutscenes,from players training to being released and stuff...it was quite good.
The funny/silly cutscenes were from 03,the more serious ones were from 04.I loved the dinasty mode from 04.Comment
