As far as I can tell from the demo, this is the case in NBA Live 09.

The DNA feature seems like the type of thing to revolutionize a genre of game as much as something like Signature Style, etc., but this game seems to suffer from some of the same jerky animations from last year and just a lack of fluidity throughout most of any given game.

I'm really hoping I'll be able to look past it, because DNA is not something I wanna miss, but if not... oh, well. There's always next year.

it'll all depend on the gameplay

ID had some jerky animations, its was ugly graphic wise and stiff, but the gameplay ate the other games alive.

So true, ID was just a blast to play and never seemed to get old. I blazed through that season playing every minute of every game as the Celtics............and had a blast.

This is an annual statement made by gamers regarding NBA Live. It truly is a shame, because EA has all of the tools to make hands down the best basketball game ever. But they never will, and that is attributed to the points that the thread starter eluded to - putrid animations, herky-jerky movements, and a complete lack of fluidity.

Presentation? Features? Marketing? Depth? Those aspects of NBA Live are top notch, without a doubt. They're amazing, honestly. But gameplay? It's truly baffling. It's a real shame, and that is why I have bought 2k for five or six years straight, and that is why I will continue to do so until/unless 2k is no longer (which I'm fearing).

Sorry guys, im going to lock this on the other hand because i dont want this to turn into another impressions thread when we have one already and its not exactly the time to bash on a game not released yet.
