I'm actually enjoying this demo. Next year this game will be really good.

5 out of 10 with the jerky animations probably due to it not being a final version.

6 out of 10 if that is completely smoothed out.

Reasons? Unstoppable layup button in the paint. Blocking opponents almost at will. Terrible animations in the paint.

This game is actually fun this year, i'm sure that was their main goal. But the game is still plagued by some horrid animations and slow reaction times. I'm not saying all animations are horrid (most them are quite good) but the ones that are off look horrid. For example, when you try to block, it seriously takes a half second for the player to actually start gathering himself to block the shot, and half the time, my player jumps the wrong way. And I don't know what they were thinking when they put those post animations in there. All of them have a hitch in it, I don't know whats the problem there. In my opinion this game now has a good foundation, but is still 1-1 1/2 years behind the 2K series.

Why are we rating demos? There is already another thread with demo impressions, thoughts, likes, and dislikes. Is stamping a random number on your experience of a demo really necessary? Just note your thoughts in the proper thread!

i'd give the demo a 8.5...it has that inside drive feel to it.

looks to be a competitor this year...i'm definitely going to pick it up.

I'll give it a 7.5/10. There's only so much you can see in 4 minutes, but the overall experience was great. The practice facility was amazing, the animations ran a lot smoother than last years game, and the quickstrike was great.

You're liking Live a lot arent you Sage lol. The more and more I play it, the more and more I think that I should pass it up. There are many annoying occurrences that ruin it for me such as:
-Players not grabbing boards
-Quickstrike slow and unresponsive
-Players jumping wrong way for blocks
-Layup button is highly abusible
-Right stick defense is very limited(I do like the lockdon d though)
-in replays you see players shoot and their shorts go up and you can see their thighs and they looks like drumsticks
Along with those there are some positives
-Great textures
-Court is very nice
-the atmosphere is great
-Animations are pretty swell most of the time
-Playcalling system is the best ever in a video game (although floaty passes ruin things sometimes.)
With all this said, I still think this will be a good-very good game, but still nowhere near 2k's level.

You're liking Live a lot arent you Sage lol.

Believe me I'm just as shocked as you are, but I love this demo, and with the proper tweaks this game could be great. The 1 thing I like about this game more than 2k8 is there's not alot of standing around and the interaction between the players moving around makes the game seem alive. Less like drones just moving to different spots(2k8). I hope 2k added alot more off the ball animations and interaction.

The blocking animations being too slow so far is the worst part for me. That's the only complaint I have besides the CPU players making too many shots, which leads back to the blocking animations.

as a whole! i give it a 2...just for having me to sit through that damn 365 vid without being able to skip it!! cmon EA wtf!?!

now for the gameplay itself...i give it a 8 i really enjoy how the players actually run to set the plays...its very nice to look at...i really do enjoy the demo

It is tired having to watch the 365 ad everytime. I was pushing every button on my controller trying to get it to stop.

Lol. Hey I give credit where credit is due, and EA definitely has me eagerly anticipating NBA Live 09. Now as far as 08 goes I still don't understand how you like that game, but as far as 09 goes we here *does Martin thing*
