I like the 2 button system is just pressing the lay up/dunk button when you don't want to can be annoying, why don't you guys just disable it when your far from the paint.

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
The more I play the demo the more the locomotion stands out as needing a big fix. Guys dribbling with the wrong hand ... especially coming out of the triple threat moves.. could use some assistance. It's also causing some weird animations to trigger.
Pick and roll control is a great start I just think more Ai options for what to do when defense is playing it different. Also cpu has to know there are sometimes when you can't pass it to the roll man because of the defense. Right now the choose a bad pass that on occasion travels through both defenders and makes its way to the player.
Passing could use the overhaul that went on from 2k7 to 2k8. there were a ton of passes added and that is what this needs just not enough for all the different situations that can occur on the floor.
The lack of sliding is just beautiful I went back to play 2k8 and just couldn't stomacke it. Smooth out and remove all the odd looking animations and were getting somewhere...Catch me on that #SimNation #SimHangOut Friday's @ 10:00 pm est https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...N7yxMiElOpMl_BComment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
Fix the damn clipping. It is out of control how often it happens and how severe it is when it happens. I know its not as important as most of the other stuff already mentioned, but this game has some of the worst clipping I've ever seen. Were 3 years into this generation, EA puts out Fifa, NHL, and Madden which all involve player contact and they have very very little noticeable clipping. Why can't NBA Live keep players from running right through each other, or passing the ball straight through a defenders chest. It takes away from the overall experience because it is so obvious and ugly as hell.Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
I told the guys at the NCAA 09 community event that NBA Live needs that sub thing that 2k has ... where you can set the number of minutes each player on your roster should play.
Being a former 2k guy Beluba, I assume you know what I'm yapping about here.Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
visuals:
-assistant coach or two on the bench, maybe even a trainer
-the crowd is bigger than the players, they make the players look small on the court
-better skin texture for the crowd and smoother bodies, cause the shoulders look a little jagged
-maybe extend the lightings a couple more rows
animations:
-players bumping into each other (i think this would make the pick and roll a lot more realistic and natural)
-blocking shots still needs work
-i guess the next istep would be signature dribbling?
gameplay:
right now the only thing that really bothers me is rondo taking threes. i know there's a logic for when they get open, but i think it shouldn't apply to pgs who dont take a lot of threes. for players like fisher or bibby sure, but rondo? im not sure if im right though =)
the game's really fun by the way. if this were live 08, i probably would have skipped 2k8 based on the demos since 2k8 played a lot like 2k7Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
- Definitely dunk tips
- Ability to alter shot in mid-air close to the basket and avoid block
- Neat idea about the rebounding moves with the right analog
- Fronting the post is a must
- Revamp the up and under move, it's nice when you're 15 feet away, but the same animation shouldn't take place next to the basket.
- Obvious that the directional passing needs work
- Fix the blocking animations and how the ball ricochets oddly
- Block is still delayed on jumpshots most of the time, and the animation for a block while turbo is pressed completely takes you out of the play..there needs to be a close out animation when a defender is running to a jump shooter. Hand up with a block-out
- definitely need on-the-fly substitutions, strategy, etc.. Live 09 demo you're still unable to sub while opponent is shooting a free throw!!
That's it for now..Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
hey beluba....live needs to add the "icon lead pass" feature that 2k has (where you can control the movement of the receiving player and tell him where to cut with the analog stick). that feature alone makes the game so enjoyable because you can fully control your passes rather than being stuck with where the cpu player decides to go.
also, the passing in general needs work - please add more pass types and make sure the passes are appropriate for the situation...this way the ball won't travel right through a defender's body.
also, the receiving player should move and position himself to receive the pass cleanly by creating the right passing angle.
add quicker, more responsive passes...add quick touch passes - make it so you can pre-load the next pass while the ball is still between players...this would result in an ultra-quick touch pass to get the ball to the open man quickly.Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
YES blues that is a great idea. I love that feature allows us for force him to curl or fade the screen.
The player matchup ability of choops 2k8 where we can assign a player to guard another player as opposed to another position.
in 2k9 it appears you can manually decide to shade a player to the right or left and how far off to play them. If we could assign this from the matchups screen we could control how we want our cpu defense to guard players as opposed to only being able to select this when were on the ball.
I guess you would need to just jack that idea to manually adjust your on the ball defensive position as well....
Oh how could I forget.. live has the worst replay camera angles known to man. Please change those. In fact that camerapalooza upgrade you guys gave 2k where you had practically any camera angle imaginable would be sweet too.Last edited by Da_Czar; 09-21-2008, 10:11 AM.Catch me on that #SimNation #SimHangOut Friday's @ 10:00 pm est https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...N7yxMiElOpMl_BComment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
i was excited to read that in live 09 you will be able to hold down on the bumper to keep the pass icons visible as long as you want. this is one feature that i have been waiting for 2k to add, but live beat them to it. i requested multiple times for this to be added to 2k - it looks like beluba has brought a lot of good suggestions with him when he moved. it gets so annoying to have to constantly press the bumper over and over to bring up the pass icons because they keep disappearing. i only use icon passing (it is the only way to have full control of the passing) so this really has me thinking about getting live this year.
some other things to add to live 2010:
signature styles for defense and rebounding. i want to see a difference between a KG shot block and a yao ming shot block. more athletic players should have their own package of defense/rebounding animations so that their movements look more athletic - they should jump higher and quicker when going up for blocks and rebounds.
slower players like yoa ming and ilgauskas should not be able to do a full leap to go up for a rebound or block - they should barely jump when rebounding and attempting blocks (and dunking).
overall defense should be more responsive. blocks should be more responsive and players should jump in the proper direction and make the proper motion to contest the shot. players should work harder to deny penetration and to prevent easy dunks and layups. there could be more body contact in the paint.Last edited by blues rocker; 09-21-2008, 07:44 PM.Comment
