i disagree with that. i think live should keep their current configuration where the right stick is used exclusively for dribbling moves. this gives you way more options for dribbling. 2k uses the right stick as a shot stick, and as a result their dribbling controls are extremely limited.

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
Beluba,
i've mentioned it before, but let's get a little more specific on the defensive improvements for 2010.
it is just WAAAAAAAAAAAY too easy to score. players are hitting all kinds of leaners and circus shots all over the place. i've seen periods of 4+ minutes without a missed shot. it's too easy to just get inside and toss up a freak layup that goes in.
the success rate of shots should be greatly lowered so the shot is affected by the difficulty of the shot and how closely the shot was contested - that way you will feel like your defense actually has an impact on the game.
add more body contact in the paint so players can't just waltz into the paint and shoot or dunk easily over a crowd of defenders.
make the defensive AI more aware and aggressive (especially in the paint). as of now they will often just watch interior/post passes whiz by them without sticking a hand out to deflect the ball.
improve rebounding control. rebounding is very slow, unresponsive and frustrating. as of now your player doesn't jump quickly enough and he doesn't jump in the proper direction to get the ball. nba 2k7 had this problem, but they fixed it in 2k8 and the rebounding in 2k8 felt perfect - players would jump properly and aggressively to get the ball.
make players more aggressive in going after rebounds and loose balls. players should dive after the ball if it is going out of bounds rather than just watch it bounce past them.Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
minor fix; occasionally (if not all the time) after a timeout is called after a made basket late in the game, the ball should advance to half-court; it didn't. I know this happened quite often in 2008, not sure if it's fixed in 2009 yet.Comment

1. DNA-based player minutes
It's a shame DNA can't effect the minutes a guy plays in a game, so, say if Bosh averages 40 minutes a game in the real NBA, it would also happen in Live if you use auto subs or play the Raps.
2. Offline playclock adjustment
one other suggestion (for offline play): It's a shame the shot and play clocks didn't stop while you were using that in-game sub thing. I know you can't do that for online play, but I find subbing cumbersome and have had the odd clock violation because I was trying to set my subsComment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
The cameras ARE customizable this year - you can change zoom level and camera height, just like 2k. Mind you, there are only five camera choices (though I think 2k camera choices are a bit overkill. Half those views you would never, ever use)Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
hey stephen and beluda how come players barely uses the backboard i mean they use it just not has much as you would see in real life, especially the layups sometimes instead of going for a easy off the side lay up they go in to the reverse fall which is cool but y make it hard for your self lol. also i know past lives you where able change from a dunk to a lay up, or lay up to another lay up that would be nice if you brought that back.
The game is pretty good next year just try to make it more fluid and smooth there to many animations where you get lock into.Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
After playing 2k9, unfortunately the 2k series has Live beat again. Just my personal opinion, but Live is making huge strides. The players move much more life-like in 2k9, the player models are better in Live, IMO. It just seems like the Live players move like Gumby with hunched backs and sticks for arms. The foot planting seems much more accurate in Live however. 2k9 just has more features and their jumpshots just seem much more fluid. I love KG's sig shot in Live though, 2k9 is way off. Overall, the fluidity is lacking in Live. Combine that with their shot-stick (like that better than dual buttons) - the possibilities are endless for shots with this, especially around the basket; but like Live's right analog for crossovers more so than isomotion. I sincerely hope the Live dev team is striving to make the best game and not settle for 2nd best. Live's dev team's commitment over the past 2 years is promising, and is leaps and bounds better than 07, but I'm hoping 2010 blows us away.
I've posted tons of additions in wishlist format a few pages back...Comment

This is what I mean that players don't use the backboard enough, or do simple off the back board lay up, like in this video iverson could have just throwing it of the backboard but instead he did a point less layup animationComment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
Tone down the sweat .. its back to Live 06 status in close shots
Make the arena alive. The audio is there and superb, but the bench, coaches (add asst coaches who jump around too), cheerleaders, crowd all of that in a bundle would do well.
BTW, time to ditch the low fps thunder sticks.
Just add more sig moves and celebrations to the players. Alot of what are in the game now are great ala Vince Carters after a sig dunk, LeBron and the diamond, Kobe's fist pump.
Balance out the on ball D. Its workable now but it can always be perfectedYou probably dont want to ditch the slip and recover animation off of crossovers but you could just have the defender go the wrong way, or not be able to move fast enough laterally. .. best case I guess let us have a slider to tone it up or down. That should satisfy everyone.

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
I don't know if these are wishes or bugs:
A) Out of bounds recognition - I can't count how many times guys go out of bounds in this game and it isn't whistled.
B) Foul recognition - If Michael Redd gets 2 fouls in the 1st quarter, the cpu should get him the fock out of the game. I've seen superstars left in the game with four fouls. Inexcusable.
Presentation:
A) Make the score ticker less intrusive
Gameplay:
A) Defensive control response. When I press a button on defence, my guy should respond ... immediately.
Animations:
A) Just because I have the rock, it doesn't mean I should automatically be sucked into the defender. I think you know what I mean.Comment

Re: NBA Live 2010 GamePlay Wishlist...
There are many glaring issues still with NBA Live 09. going forward and if i have anything to base my opinion on. NCAA 09 has improved in some of these areas, but then again it's the college game being represented, so improvement for NBA Live 09 has to be based on the nba game.Brand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment
