This illustrates for 2K fans that the gap is narrowing although 2K is still superior. If I wanted to post it in the Live forum, I would expect the lack of response due to the fact that most people who play Live are kids that don't understand intellectual conversation about sim basketball views and wouldn't be moved to respond to the post.

Which is what has happened because you and the admin thought to post the thread better than the originator. This also suggests, from my perspective, a certain amount of disregard for my freedom of speech.

So my question for you and the admin is what gives you the right to dictate where I speak? Is it up to you to determine the audience for my thoughts and opinions? That spawned the admin comment because I felt violated when you two decided override my post by projecting your perspective on what I had to say. How would you feel if I took the amazing videos you create and pushed them to Gametrailers because I felt it was a more appropriate setting?

This isn't about an inappropriate, immature outburst, it's more of a statement regarding power. So if you give a man power that thinks about others before himself, you get a Ghandi. If you give the same power to a selfish man, you get a Hitler.

No, I'm not comparing you to Hitler, so if you don't get it, nevermind.
If OS members want to read a review of Live, they will go to the Live forum. Of course your review is contrasting to 2k, because they are the two major basketball franchises. Almost all reviews will include comparisons.

If you think that the Live forums here aren't active enough to generate the quality responses you are looking for, maybe you should use your 50+ inch vertical and jump to ea.com forums ....

just kidding, but you are correct there's a lot of kids that play live

btw. does freedom of speech apply on the internet? considering not every country in the world has freedom of speech...

When you sign up and join a forum, you agree to its format. The format of these forums states that demo impressions for NBA Live go in the Live forum. When someone is asked to moderate, they are asked to do so in accordance with the rules of the forums. KDRE isn't making a power play. He's doing the job he agreed to do when they turned his name that horrible green color.

All of this is taking away from the solid job you did on the impressions.

Nice review man, but trust me, you should leave all of the other stuff alone.

I understand why he posted it in the 2K section: it's directed towards 2K gamers. He was just trying to say that Live 09 is actually a solid game if you're not expecting it to play like NBA 2K. Like everything, it take's an adjustment period. It's like the first week of school when you feel like "Man, I hate school, I wish it was still summer." But after the second week you think to yourself "I guess school isn't so bad." Or not.

That's the conflict right there. You can't direct a review of Live to the 2k fans. If they want to know about Live, they go to the Live forum. It's like advertising meat to vegetarians, or Bush to Democrats. If they're curious about the other side, they know where to go.

The thing I like most about all NBA Live games is the separate shoot and layup buttons. You gave this part a D- but from my past experience with Live I always thought it was a better setup than 2k. Having a user option to either shoot or lay it up/dunk is huge for me and you can be very strategic with it.

IMO the shotstick and the use of the turbo button gives you way more control than the shoot/dunk buttons on Live, if you know how to utilize it.

co-sign the shotstick sage..... to the op, keep in mind that part of the mods job is to help with relieving conflict on the boards due to the individual post that are made. Although your "intellectual" p.o.v may be valid, it only takes one to ruin it, and derail the thread. You allready know how big the ea vs. 2k thing is, and it doesn't take much.

Absolutely. Though I do have to give Live props for the layup button having impressively logical results, and being ultra intuitive. The shot stick is still king, but while I don't agree with the existence of the layup button, I do have to applaud its execution.

Then again, there are a lot of ignorant 2K fans. To me, being a fan of a company is pretty idiotic. Why refuse to play a superior game because your favorite company didn't make it? Of course Live isn't the better game but it could be in a few years.

Good point sir. Example the NHL games and Baseball games. 2k was king in both of those games for quite some time but EA seems to strive when competitions is in their face.

Like you said, EA didn't make a superior game, so right now you're arguing hypotheticals. When Live is better than 2k, we can have a real discussion about whether fans are loyal to the brand or loyal to the quality of that brand.

The point is not that 2k fans don't ever want to know about Live, but if they do they just go to the Live forum.
