Just thought I'd throw this up here for now. We can change it once the game drops.

Let's share all the moves you've been able to pull off.

The right thumbstick controls your dribble. Here's a template of how we can discuss this:

Pressing ______ (all moves are absolute; down is always down) will make your player ______.

Off the top of my head:

Hold Up on Right Stick will make your player spin (while moving).
Pressing down will make your player crossover behind the back (stationary).

Feel free to add to the list as you find things out. Player specific moves are welcome.

All of these quickstrike moves (and the post moves) are included in the "What's New?" section of the demo, FYI.

The only things that I didn't see listed are the fast AI-style dribbles which you do by just tapping up, lef/right, or down repeatedly.. your player will get low and do quick dribbles (up is front cross, left/right is regular, and down is behind the back). You can chain these with the other moves... kind of lull the defender with the quick taps and then RT + RS and blow past them on an anklebreaker.

I believe holding up to start a spin and then quickly doing a half circle to down does the half spin

Just tap down on the R-stick in a rhythmic fashion... there are 3 speeds I think... If you do the regular one, he'll be standing upright, but the other 2 speeds he hunches down. Just stand around with Pierce in the practice gym and tap down (or up) repeatedly and you'll see it start. You have to time it fairly right to make it look smoother and continuous, but it's not too hard. The right-to-left-to-right motion is tougher to keep up at that speed for me.

Yes the game manual said that a quarter-circle (from up to left or right) does the half-spin. It's all in the manual... someone should load up the demo and post the full list for those who can't look or haven't noticed the moves list... Post moves are in there also. I can do that tonight if nobody else does.

(Taken straight from the manual, but added some more information for better clarification, and organized it better. All of this data is based from Paul Pierce in the practice gym.)

Quickstrike Moves


RS (Up) - Crossover in front move
Hold RS (Up) - Spin move
RS (Up-Half Circle Left/Right) - Fake spin & return move
RS (To Ball Hand) - Inside out move
Hold RS (To Ball Hand) - Hesitation move
RS (Down) - Behind the back move
Hold RS (Down) - Step-Back move
RS (To Opposite Ball Hand) - Crossover through-the-legs move

Quickstrike Ankle-Breakers


RT - Activate Quickstrike Ankle Breakers while doing quickstrike moves
RT + RS (Up) - Crossover in front, big hesitation set-up move
RT + RS (To Ball Hand) - Inside out, big hesitation set-up move
RT + Hold RS (To Ball Hand) - Big hesitation set-up move
RT + RS (To Opposite Ball Hand) - Crossover through legs, big hesitation set-up move
RT + RS (Down) - Behind the back, big hesitation set-up move
RT + LS (Up Diagonal Left/Diagonal Right) aka 10 o'clock/2 o'clock - Near the end of a set-up move, push in the direction the player should drive


Low Post Offense


RS (Left/Right) - Flick to the right or left to spin by the defender
RT + RS (Left/Right) - Flick to the right or left while activation Quickstrike Ankle Breakers to drop-step around the defender
Tap B - Shot fake
Press B - Shoot
Tap B + Press B - Fake and Counter shot

*If the ball carrier can get by his man in the post with a spin or drop-step, look for a quick shot or dunk/lay-up by pressing shoot or dunk.


Low Post Defense


LS (Up/Right/Left/Down) - When the ballcarrier tries to spin or drop-step around you in the post, move in that direction to stay in front of him. Moving the wrong way or being late on movement will cause you to get beat.
Y - Defend your opponents shot, lay-up or dunk attempt
X - Poke the ball free

* Jump in front of your check and try to take a charge by flicking to the right or left as he tries to spin or drop-step around you.


**Additional Tips (Left out in the manual)


Quickstrike...While on The Move
(By the way, these are pretty much the same controls for quickstrike while stationary with a few minor differences. Some might need some tweaking, though.)


RT + RS (Up) - Either a quick crossover in front or a hesitation crossover in front, not 100% sure
RT + Hold RS (Up) - Either a quicker or slower spin move
RT + RS (To Ball Hand) - Either a quicker or slower-type inside out move, not 100% sure
RT + Hold RS (To Ball Hand) - Either a quick hesitation or big hesitation move, not 100% sure
RT + RS (To Opposite Ball Hand) - Either a quicker or slower-type through-the legs crossover; doesn't matter if you hold RS
RT + RS (Down) - Either quicker or slower-type behind the back crossover; holding RS down will not perform any move and is best done tapping down on the stick rather than holding for a second or two
RT + RS (Up-Half Circle Left/Right) - Either quick or slow fake spin & return move


Triple Threat

RS (Left) - Step-over
RS (Right) - Jab step
RS (Down) - Protect ball
RS (Up) - Swing ball low

You can explode out of any of those in any direction but backwards.

*When moving and facing away from the hoop, flick the Right Stick to the Left or Right to perform a quick turn-around shoulder fake to turn back to the basket.

*While moving backwards and facing towards the opposite direction of the hoop, flicking the Right Stick to the Left or Right will perform a backwards through-the-legs dribble. (Last year you were able to do a head fake while moving backwards by pressing Up or Down, can't remember, but in this demo I can't seem to do that anymore)



There's more to add for the post like shoulder fakes, but I'm still working with those. If I messed anything up, let me know and I'll correct it if I can. 14 inch SDTV's and bad vision don't mix too well.

I'll look forward to contributing again some way once I get my hands on the retail version. Probably Go-To Moves and how to execute them or something like that.

They took it out but some players have it as apart of their special move package.
