As my first post I want to discuss the LIVE09 demo and ask if anyone feels the same as I. The more I play the demo the more I dislike it. The quickstrike feature is slow and sluggish yet is always works. I can iso Pierce and he scores everytime! Blocking shots are atrocious! Players jump the wrong way and when you press the button its unresponsive. The players dont jump right away. I actually was a believer that Easports actually added rating in their game unlike *CAUGH Madden CAUGH* with DNA. Gasol has had at least 2blocks every games and he blocks Garnetts fadaways. There are entirely too many blocks in the game and hate the fact that the defensive just sometimes stands around when when I am driving or the other team is driving to the rack. Does anyone else dislike the game the more they play.

try zeroing out the block shot slider for both and then double the block layup/dunk slider for both teams and make sure your playing it on a high level

But I disagree. Personally, the more I play it, the more I like it. I've been a die-hard 2K fan since about 2K5, but this is the first year since then that I'll be getting both games. Live has made some great strides in the game play, albeit they are not quite there yet.

Live has a ton of features and abilities 2K fans should want in their game. If it wasn't for the game play, 2K would have been beat. There are issues in the 2K games that have been in there for years, and barring an engine change of some sort, seems to continue with 2K9 (I don't know how much it has continued, but there are one or two nagging flaws in the trailer and game play video I've counted).

I'm looking forward to playing two good basketball games this year.

I just downloaded the demo and if you play hoops for real
then you should be able to appreciate all the hard work that live has put into this years version and live 08 was a dud no doubt!
but this year's version is shaping up to be a nice second option, I love what live is doing and the more I play the more things are starting to take shape and form...

there is alot under the hood for this years version and the momentum factor alone is impressive and ....non hoopers don't relate to this game because all they want to do is just abuse and take advantage of the game but a real playa knows basketball is about strategy and adjustments...live is not 2k but it's about time live got back into the fight! Momentous's video's are great and I will be getting both this year for sure!!!

I dont think there is much strategy with Live. Iso with Pierce and he can score everytime. I play on superstar and and against the Lakers Kobe doesnt even touch the ball??? What the heck is up wit that?

Just wait until you play the retail version(if you choose to), things can change.

The reason you cant just jump up right away and block shots is because they plant there foot before they go out to block which is realistic. Dont only thing that I can say about it that they should add in the future is, so players are more athletic than others and are able to get off the ground alot quicker than others for rebounds and blocks but other than that its solid to me. You just have to time the when the player goes up for the shot to block it. But it seems to me that the more people ask for a sim game, when a company delivers in certain areas most people complain still because they cant just do what they want to do. Kind of a lose lose situation if you ask me.

Yea but the problem is the jumpshot animations as well. They dont get enough air under them and the ball gets out way to quick for some players. The jumpshot animations are just not that good. Add the fact that they footplant when you attempt a block and they jump the wrong direction most of the time, it's just a bad combination. Especially when an abundance of shots go in. The game just needs some more balance. If they build on this game for 2010 it should be great next year.

I feel the total opposite. the more I play the Demo the more I like it. Yes there are some concerns with blocking with a user controlled man. passing could be a little crisper and FG% way to high, but like someone said things can change for the better in the retail version. 2K better come through with that demo, cause I'm getting mad use to the live controls and I am only buying one b-ball game this year.

When you figure out what kind of timing the jumpers have you'll feel a little different about them, but I do agree that you should be able to feel that flick so to speak when shooting.

Kobe doesn't even take many shots or even touch the ball on Superstar when playing against them and Gasol is the reincarnation of 04 Ben Wallace.

Yes ive seen fadeaways blocked, but add to that, the fadeaways seemed easier, more controlled slower and better looking IMO in Live 08 but maybe i havent seen enough yet

KG had his fake fake fake fade jumper so im hoping its in Live 09 too

yeah i not feeling the shooting myself.....it could be way smoother than it is.
OT question....did Live 08 have signature shot arches last year?
