Why do I keep getting my post fade blocked by Gasol?

I can't arc the J over the top with KG sometimes, usually happens on the right block. I turned the CPU Shot Blocking all the way down and he still gets to it.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Shake him before you decide to do your move.

Catch him playing you to one side too much before you decide to take the shot.

You can get it off all game if you catch him making that mistake.

Props for the advice, but shouldn't I be able to take a straight fade without havin to put the Dream Shake on him?

When do you ever see KG just turnaround and shoot?

Better yet, go outside and try it. Turn right around on your defender 180 degrees and see if the ball doesn't go right back in your face.

It's strategy in a post up fadeaway if you've ever done it alot on the court yourself.

If you make the wrong move you could be setting yourself up to get it stuffed down your throat like a twinkie.

I do it all the time IRL, but I'm 6'4, so eh.

I will watch some Celtics games and look, though.

Man i dont have the demo but if ur right abt this im really likin this game more and more. Live has always had that realistic momentum based system and things like this just add to the ultimate realism so that you cant just shoot whenever you feel like it, you have to create space.

In Live 2008 the fadeaways felt way different and KG got more air on the shot. You felt the weight of trying to back the man down and it felt superior to anything 2k ever did when fading away.

It's different this year, but its still manageable. KG does a host of shoulder fakes when he does his fadeaways. He has terrific footwork.

LOL, I ain't believin that unless you're in the NBA. Outside the world of professional basketball, 6'4 means you're a giant.

And in all honestly, it shouldn't matter whether or not KG shakes before he post fades IRL, not everyone does, and I don't wanna have to put an MJ on a defender just to get a clean post fade off. That's the point of a fade, to make it harder to block.

Post fades rarely get snuffed in the NBA.

Its not the shake, it's getting the defender off balance.

Create space to get the shot off, you still need room to shoot the ball unless you have cat legs to spring 10 feet backwards off the vert no matter what

Not on post fades, and especially not when you're 6'11.

plus you talkin about 2 dudes 7 feet tall, still should need some space, no?

The point is that NBA players know when to arc their shots over the top of a taller defender.

An NBA player would never get his post fade blocked consistently, period, with or without shakes.
