In my opinion this game is by far the most realistic basketball game to ever hit the market simply because of how well the one on one aspect of the game is portrayed in this game. I've heard ppl complain that defense doesnt have much effect on the shots but i feel like this can be slightly adjusted with sliders, and if you really take a good look at nba basketball the best defenders are good not because they contest shots so well, but because they can force offensive players to take shots in certain positions that they don't want to or take off balance shots. Nba players consistently hit shots with a hand in their face, which live does a nice job of showing, and i would say that this is a huge advantage live has over the nba 2k9 game because a shot off the dribble with a hand in ur face is that game is almost never gonna go in, even with kobe. Now i must say that i dont have either game and i can't be 100% sure about my feelings until i have played multiple games of each, but by looking at the collection of videos i have seen the major problem with live 09 has nothing to do with gameplay. It is the fact that compared to nba 2k9 it flat out doesn't even compare to it in the looks department in my opinion. But i prefer the gameplay aspect that favors one on one play and i have been an avid 2k gamer for years now, but this year i can say that live has finally won me over. This is the first game that i get the feeling that if kobe gets hot he could go for 20 plus points in one quarter even if you use him on the highest level with a ton of one on one shots. It just seems to me that as long as the sliders are user friendly this game could be ground breaking for gamers that truly understand/have played basketball and can appreciate the actual lack of control that you have over the players. You shouldn't be able to turn and stop on a dime with these players it just wouldnt be realistic and love that aspect as well. Feel free to respond to my comments, although i know some of you will say how can you make these comments without playing the game, these are more of my own opinion thats all.

I did, and don't judge the game by watching others posted videos. Wait until you have the game and then give you opinion.

2k9. I have bought both every year on next-gen, this year from all the videos I have seen on LIVE, I think I;m going to pass, LIVE doesn't look as complete as 2K9, 2K9 just looks like it plays that much better the LIVE. Also from the few people that already have it, there impressions have been ho hum so far, nothing that screams out, BUY LIVE!! So I'm sticking to the series I always do.N.Y Mets

what are your thoughts on the complete lack of a one on one game if you are playing a human vs. user controlled game?? thats actually my main reason for getting live because i like to play against the computer mainly and i dont do online play. But i can understand for those that strictly do online play i think 2k9 would be the better option in that regardComment
