Retail Version -vs- Demo (any difference?)

For those who have the retail copy of NBA LIVE 09, can you share your thoughts on how it compares to the DEMO?

Does it play pretty much the SAME...or have there been any improvements?

    If so, in what areas?

    Thanks.

Re: Retail Version -vs- Demo (any difference?)

I would say it is very close. The one concern I had was with the outside shot either it was a miss or a make...most of the time. In the retail game, I have noticed that is not the case at all. I have seen all types of shots from the outside....go in and fall out, and not always net.

It may just be me, but the default speed of the game seems a little faster also. Honestly, that is all I can really think of right now.

So they added this into the retail version ???

If so, Im really glad they did. This was one of my main proplems with the game. You need the shot variety, it makes shooting the ball so much more interesting.

Can anyone else who already has a copy please confirm this ??

Minsta, I hope someone else will confirm this for you, because that was my major gripe with the demo. It was the first thing that I wanted to look at, when I popped it in. I have played 5 full games now and have seen a lot of variety in the way shots go down or miss...............

So 3 pointers "rattle" in or "clang" off the side of the rim know ?? or vice versa "rattle" out and so forth ??

The way it is in the demo is very "live 2002 ish". I'll be a very happy guy when I pop in my copy on tuesday and see this for myself.

It is much better to me, I don't even notice it anymore, and that was one thing I just noticed all the time in the demo. Until you brought it up, I had actually forgot about it.

Edit: I am not trying to convince you it is perfect...but, IMO, it is much
                better.

Just to test this, I just turned the game on......Hit a 3 pointer with Ben Gordon, from the corner, it literally hit the side of the rim, bounced up, hit the front of the rim, the slowly fell down in. That was the first 3 pointer I attempted and it did that...so I hope you see the same thing, or I guess I am really bad at impressions.

Same here, maybe its the same thing. People are not seeing it nearly as much, and therefore, have let it slip out of their thoughts. Maybe you will get someone who says the exact opposite of what I just said, but no one with the game has complained at all about this, and a lot of people did from the demo.

                      ^^^^

Yeah thats what I was thinking, since it was fixed people just overlooked it assuming it waslike that all the time. If it was still in the retail version like how it was in the demo, it for sure would've been brought up.

Anyways....thanks for the info, it makes tuesday that much sweeter.

What about gameplay? Do you have anymore control over blocks? What I mean is when you push the block button does your player immediately try to get off the floor or is it like the demo where by the time he jumps the play is over?

That drove me crazy in the demo. You press the BLOCK button and there's a 1 second delay before the player does anything. Hopefully they fixed this in the retail version.

IF not....can this be adjusted somehow in the sliders?

p.s. bluengold......thanks so much for your insight. I'm glad to hear about the shot variation.

The block button is hit or miss at best........sorry. I know that is disappointing. I also just played another game, and while I have noticed a nice difference in shot miss/make variations from 18 feet in. I noticed this game that my 3 pointers were typically hit or miss........not all of them, but a lot of them. I guess I didn't notice, because there is so much variance from the arc inwards.

Minsta, don't kill me bro, but it is hard to notice, unless you really play the perimeter often. I say it is sill better than the demo, but the outside could use a little more for my liking. Most games I only take 3 or 4 3 pointers, so my last game I really made an effort to shoot them. I would say out of the 5 I hit out of 13, that 4 of them went straight in, and 1 of them clanked and went in.
