If you get a "dirty disc" error with this game (360)

First: Make sure to delete the NBA Live 09 demo if you downloaded it. Seriously.

Second: Clear your 360 cache - here's how:
Go to the system blade and then select memory.
Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?

I had three "dirty disc" errors early, but since doing both of these haven't seen one. I have an ugly feeling it has more to do with the demo being on my hard drive. I know that may sound stupid, but take these steps anyway.

Some other guys who got the game early DJRhude at vetzballin.com and Tomba at OS didn't see any "dirty disc" errors.

My solution, buy a PS3 and you don't have to worry about that kind of stuff....EA games and the 360 don't mix well...it was Madden 08 constantly freezing on the 360 that pushed me over the edge...it was literally the last game I bought for the 360 and I will never buy another game for it. The 360 is garbage imo. Clearing the cache, weird button combination's, constant reboots, purchased-downloaded games not playing unless you're online ..it's a joke.

yeah I kept getting it a lot when I would switch practice gyms or change settings..Thought it was my disc..thanks

This thread was supposed to help guys who have a 360, not incite a console war.

I was trying to help guys with 360's by giving them the best advice available...and that is to get a PS3 if you don't want weird, PC like problems. I wasn't trying to incite a console war...my experience as shown me that those kinds of silly problems don't happen on a PS3, based on what I've read in these forums I have cause to believe (as surprising as it may seem) that people don't know that. Seriously, dang near every EA game on the 360 has some kind of problem for someone...game freezes out the wahoo, dirty disk errors, rings of death...the list goes on and on. Not only have I read about these problems but I've lived them on the 360...I never had any of these problems on a PS3...not once.

The quality of previously released PS3 EA games wasn't up to snuff compared to the 360 but as of this year, the PS3 has caught up (Madden, Live, NHL). If you have the choice, or you don't want to deal with the lame problems, there's no reason to not buy the PS3 version. So chill out.

And this was another reason why iam not buying live...madden has freezes and dirty disk errors ncaa 2009 does and so does nhl09.

I know its the live forums iam just saying what is it with ea and their disk? iam not trying to bash them or noone for any means but i just dont understand why all their games end up with a dirty disk error? is it a bad code or something???

IMO its more of a 360 problem than an EA problem

The ps3 never gives me that kind of issue but i got em all the time with my 360 and 2k games mostly and not just me, many others here

DAVE you are the MAN !!! I just opened my copy and got a dirty disk error and remembered seeing your thread... Thanks for looking out for the rest of the bretheren. I would have been sooooo pisssed !!!!

Problems don't happen on my 360 either, and I've been playing EA games on it since launch. Go troll somewhere else.

another possible solution is to open your disc drive and insert the game (if it isn't in teher already) and load it - this solved DRE problems with DiRT, and NBA 2K8 for me
