Quick question from a 2k purchaser

I am just about done with 2k. I like the game...it looks great. I just can't play it anymore. Maybe my stick skills are going...I am 37.

However, I just can't do any of the ISO moves. I can't figure out which way to flick the stick...towards ball hand, away from basket, etc. Just can't do it...practiced..but still have problems. Plus...way too many things to remember.

Anyway, I was thinking of switching to Live. Are the controls that difficult? Are there tons of buttons combos to remember? I just want a simple sports game...remember the days of NHL and NBA 95. Even Madden is passing me by....at least NHL is still an amazing game!

    Thanks for the responses.

Check out Da-Czar's video on the OS front page called quick strike ankle tapers, but Live's controls are more user friendly.

It's alot to remember but I am in the same boat it's just so much to remember but everytime I fire up 2K9 I go to practice just to try and keep it fresh until it locks in my brain. Now Live is an easier game to pick up and play. Peace!!!!

I've made the switch for that exact reason and I'm very happy.

Da_Czar videos are great for helping you get the hang of the individual moves and stuff.

I was having trouble with the isomotion, also. Someone pointed out that if you turn the user quickness slider down to 0, it makes the isomotion much less sensitive and "herky jerky". I tried it and was finally able to string moves together. Only drawback was that I couldn't change direction with my player as well as before, but it made the game look alot smoother as far as the movement.

Live09 controls are simple to grasp..and learn..TRUST ME

By the way bro..do NOT EVER say your getting too old to grasp the sticks bro.. 37 years old is YOUNG and trust me..there are some VERY SKILLED GAMERS i know of that i play in tournaments with that are over into their 40's now.. it has nothing to do with you getting too old to pick up the sticks (gamepad)..if anything videogames is a way for older men to continue their dream of playing pro sports by still having sports videogames as their gateway.. hey i run a private forum with some gamers in their 50's dude...age is nothing when it comes to videogames. Its all a mind thing..its all in your head.

Im 34 and im just peaking now with my gaming skillz

Go PICK UP LIVE....you will NOT be disappointed..go for it man..seriously..Live09 is one game that i will say is easier to pick up and play then the 2k bball games...im not saying its less sim and more arcadey..im just saying the controls feel so NICE in your hand

Great post...you gave me a 40 year old gamer a smile.

Why I chose 2k9 yesterday over Live....I dont know. I realize now I dont need 100 moves on a b-ball game to have fun...I just want a fun game thats easy to learn ,yet hard to ever master.
