Bought NBA Live 09, should I open it?

My brother bought NBA 2k9 and it feels too much like last years game and I was bored with it cause of that. Is NBA Live worth opening? IGN gave the game a horrible review and it scares me.

I am in just about the same spot as you. I mostly played live last year and kind of sick of it. I picked up 2k9 and did not open it yet. I keep reading about how bad online is. I have heard nothing about live online as far as lag or cheese goes. Can you play real basketball online in live and still win? I did sorta enjoy last year live online but the game itself just was not the greatest.

I usually have the game opened before I get back in my car after purchasing it...then I read the manual while I'm driving home. It's a ritual.

Manuals arent much to read anymore, they get thinner every year lol. I used to have that ritual, used to like to flip to the back page and see the preview of the upcoming games back in the old-generation days
