If you have a a good post player down low, just hit your double team button, B for 360 and O for PS3. Works wonders with dominant post players. It's good to throw an extra set of hands in there if they are just rough housing you.

Or let the CPU play the D and you be the help man.

Until you really get the hang of contesting the shots, thats a good alternative.

That's pretty much how it is in real life. Good post players can take their defenders most of the time, many offenses are built around getting it down to the post and playing off how the double team comes. That's basketball.

Look man, change up your defense, don't play the guys so tight where they can just roll off of you, stop using the turbo button to go for blocks.

Trust me you can bother the post man, it just takes practice. Its not automatic stoppages but if you work for it you get rewarded.

You really gotta knuckle down on D on the whole this year!

Boozer went for 33 last night... played a re-match,played zone with some dbl teams and it did the job 4-12 and finished up with 12 points.

Now if i can only figure out post offense, does anyone know if there are any guides ??

I've been trying to do a drop step for the last week
My All-time Favourite players is order:

                    2.Kevin Garnett
                    3.Blake Griffin
                    4.Ben Wallace

I've been trying to do a drop step for the last week
To do the drop step, while posting up, hold the QSA trigger (R2 for PS3, dunno for 360), then push the right analog stick to the direction opposite of where your man is facing. If you push it in the same direction as where your man is facing, he will perform a hop step.

It won't always be successful though.

There's also another "post" move that I use that looks great, but that I'm guessing not many know of. It goes like this:

When you catch the ball in the post, with your defender engaged on you, don't dribble the ball just yet. Instead, flick the right stick down in a quick motion, and he will face up the defender. Now you'll see him in a face up stance, and the defender in a crouching defensive stance. In this stance, pushing the right stick left or right prompts your man to drive to the basket either to the left or to the right of the defender. When successful, you'll get by the defender and you can go in for the lay-up or the dunk.

But this is where it gets interesting. When you push the stick right for example, and you were not able to successfully go past your defender, your man and his defender will engage in a sort of "post-up/backing down" animation, that is different from the normal backing down animation, and that only lasts for a few seconds. When you find yourself in this animation, simply press the dunk/layup button, and your man your perform a sort of drop step/turnaround in the other direction followed by a soft lay-in of the ball into the basket. Imo it looks really nice.

Practice it in the academy, low post offense.

*Here's the move (series of moves) that I was talking about:

The shot didn't go in, lol, but that's basically it. Sometimes though, when you push down on the right analog stick to face up, your player will try to spin around the defender instead. I've found that if you hold down the stick while the entry pass is in progress (the ball still in the air), your player will face up automatically once he gets the ball, just like in this video.

Double team when the ball gets thrown in the post I mean as soon as it gets thrown in the post almost anticipate it. Also change up to a 2-3 zone occasionally before they inbound the ball.

Body up on them. Do you mean that they are hitting shots on you or that they are getting to the rim and dunking?

You should be able to time the block if you do it right... almost every time. Flopping works sometimes but I wouldn't suggest that. Hmm but if someone gets the ball on the inside and they can just go up you gotta be really lucky to stop them. Best you might get is a foul. So, if they have their back to you... don't try to steal... don't jump... just hold the UP on the right stick... to press into them. If you do turbo sometimes you might end up getting a foul. Also they might spin, but that doesn't happen to me much... anyway... just stay in position and jump. You'll be getting some blocks in no time.

Oh man thats sweet! thats the type of thing i'm trying to pull off, i didn't see a low post offence drill in the academy tho..???
