Live's sig-style is underrated

I read a lot of people knock Live's lack of sig style but to me I am quite impressed with how many of the non-super stars sig styles are in the game.

I was using the knicks and they got Crawford, Randlolph, Richardson and Nate Robinson's free throw routine down pat. Crawford blows into both hands before receiving the ball from the ref, Randolph does a lil shimmy shake before receiving the ball from the ref, Richardson bounces the ball twice to his right side and Robinson spins the ball around his waist before shooting.

Really cool.

Has anybody else noticed any other non-super star sig styles that are in the game?

To be honest with you most of the people that knock this game don't have the game, base it off the demo, and the number one reason it has EA on the cover.

From all my years at operationsports, EA games have never been a favorite.

I have both games and though I am stuck on 2K9 right now, I think Live is a very good game. I also thought the sigs were pretty good. Hell, the pre game intros in Live is better than the 2k9 pre game intros.

I guess some times I wonder the people who always start there post with I ve been a loyal 2k fan blah blah blah actual played mlb 2k8 or prizefighter, I personally don't care who makes the game but i do notice if you say something good bout EA your commiting a sin, o well both basketball games are out, now i cant wait for The Show and fight night round 4.

While nowhere near 2k's sig-style (in both content and animation imo), it is in the process of getting there, albeit quietly.

Notice that this year they didn't really hype up the sig-styles/go-to-moves/free throw routines/sig celebrations and such, you'll just notice them in game when you're playing.

Pistons intro, Suns intro, Steve Nash licking his fingers and wiping his hands on his chest, Lebron's sig celebration, sig shots, sig dunks..

One thing they should look at though, and imo just copy, is how 2k9 implemented their free throw routines. In 2k9 from the catch of the ball, to the dribble, to the actual shot, everything flows so smoothly, like one continuos animation. In Live there is a hitch in the player between the dribble and the user-controlled shot, which imo, is bad to look at.

I also think the crowd in this game is underrated look at this vid its the 4th quarter coming close to the end of the game and there all on there feet.

The entire game is underated. I was a big 2K guy and picked up Live this year for a change of pace. I can honestly say that I have not had this much fun with a basketball game since NBA 2K1 on my Dreamcast. I love the crossovers, the animations, the spacing on the court, the graphics, the replay editor, the sig styles, the Academy, the OTP, the FIBA modes...the game just has so much content and it is a BLAST to sit down and play.

I can honestly say that I have not had this much fun with a basketball game since NBA 2K1 on my Dreamcast. It is but as long as you enjoy it doesn't really matter, I mean i keep on hearing how live has a lonnnnnnnnnggg way to go to catch up to 2k9, its not even like that they just gotta work on making the game more fliud and adding missing animations and also geting rid of some ugly ones, i thing the game those good is making players and teams play like there real life selfs, I mean features alone live offers more then 2k9 does.

One thing for a fact the NBA academy is by far the most underated aspect of this game.

Yeah, I find that after I play a 12 minute sim game, before quiting the game, I always pound (or at least try to) on some national team with Team USA, lol.

There is a lot of stuff to do in this game.

Also, the "EA Hate" that many of you claim is downright laughable. Especially considering many claim this is an EA site run by an ex-EA employee.

People here typically prefer the better game. For years it was ESPN Baseball until MVP stepped up, followed by The Show. Prior to that, it was 2k basketball, followed by NBA Live/ID04, and back to 2k bball. Soccer... always W11 and now pretty much everyone loves FIFA.

The only thing people like here are the better games. The "OS loves said company" posts are really tiresome.
