    Re: Dynasty Improvements

    Guys,

    I need some answers ASAP.

We're in the process of making this decision now, but what are your expectations for trade logic in NBA LIVE's dynasty? I keep seeing you guys complain about superstars like Tim Duncan being traded from the Spurs to another team. The thing is, while we can do that, it takes away from the drastic movement that does sometimes happen in the NBA.

In every transaction, one team wins a deal in real life (in retrospect). Do you want to see superstar player movement, or would you rather have players below a certain rating allowed for trade movement? Just trying to get an idea for what you're looking for guys.

U know wht when u think about it the only time teams really trade there superstars is when they get old, or the team proformance is so bad tht the superstars ask to be traded, like A I and K G. It should be based of team proformance n I guess age and of coarse money thts just my MO. Just don't have cpu cutin superstars for no reason I hate seeing players all over the place.

        Re: Dynasty Improvements

You have a tough job. big trades do NOT happen much. if they do, it's because of

        1. teams making playoff runs
        2. guys that aren't happy

that's what will be hard for you to implement.... teams in the nba generally don't trade big players during the season. maybe there's one a year.... sometimes two. i would concentrate on WHY they are traded. if you can work on that logic, then you will have a winning formula, and something most games don't do well. and.... tell us WHY they were traded too. give us a story about it. "duncan was traded because the spurs were looking to rebuild. the young talent they got in return should help that cause."

make sense? movement happens with free agency more than trades. again, look at WHY free agents don't sign..... 2k has started to look at this angle this year. and since it's on the shelf for me, i can't tell you if they do a decent job or not.

also, bring me my simulated stats! LOL... seriously, i can't say enough how FRESH this game feels. i'm a sim guy and i'd rather play live because it just feels fun. that's the first time in a LOOOONG time i've turned away for fun factor.

The ability to control any team (or at least more than one) and allow us to play any game we want during the season. Also multi-user games in dynasty is a must.

Stats, more then one team/user. Also, I understand you guys are already working on next years game, but shouldht that be put on hold until we get at least one succesful DNA/365/Roster update considering THIS game came out weeks ago?

I want to see trades where a team offloads contracts and gathers picks to rebuild, etc. I want to feel like there are 30 other GM's out there that I am competing with off the court. Maybe even have not so smart GM's that make the bad moves.

I want the trade AI to understand and even provide reasons for declines such as 'not interested in taking on that contract'. That ties into following the NBA CBA. What's wrong with using the CBA financial system and allowing bird years, MLE's, extensions and the like. How about draft pick protection?

There are many many areas where the dynasty mode can improve.
gotta agree with all this. you work all this in and your dynasty mode is golden

also, the stats request, multiuser requests too.

the post about WHY the trades happen is also on point.

                  could be ssuperstar is aging
                  superstar demands to be traded
                  swap of superstars
                  team wants to rebuild
ringless ss want to play together to get a last 1-2 yrs to get a ring
                  etc

have as many different reasons(realistic) as you can squeeze in and make each years reasons different

the dynasty ea year should unfold like a good story with ea year being a chapter of the story. keep it all realistic and narrate the WHY/how trades, picks,fa signings, etc all happen would be good

please improve the rotations feature...i believe this is where the problem lies with sim stats...star players on my team only play 30 minutes a game example being derrick rose in my dynasty is a 94 overall now and he plays 29 minutes a game while his backup is loggong like 21 minutes and i have his spot on the rotation set to 0

another thing to improve would be the draft there are to many lebron type playmakers...6 9 players averagin 8 assist in every draft....and all together there are to many small forwards available compared to other positions...also improve on the storys about the draft eligble players that were added this year...like give us updates on how the players are doing in there college seasons....and if you decide not to add in ncaa draft classes give us 4 years of players to keep an eye out for during there college carrers...and to go along with that dont have all the best players come out maybe a freshman enjoys school like budinger or pyscho t leave them out for 2 to 3 years

                        Re: Dynasty Improvements

We should be able to play any game on the schedule. This is my main issue with dynasty. When you're limited to playing only your team's games, the dynasty feels less "alive."

We should be able to practice at any time.

You have a "super sim"-like option, which is good, but it needs to be better implemented, like NCAA Football. You should be able to super sim at any point in the game and intervene at any point. This works wonders for those of us who have very limited time to play.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but in my dynasty when star players go down and get put on the injured list, they aren't returned when they heal up. At the end of my first season, Lebron, Chris Paul and David West, Andre Iguodala, Andrew Bynum, and at least 8 others were benched on the inactive list while they were completely healed.

Lebron sat the last 40 games of the season completely healed while the Cavaliers started a lineup of Ben Wallace, Varejao, and Ilgauskas as the starting frontcourt. JJ Hickson was out, unable to play, and they left him on the active roster while leaving Lebron on the inactive list completely healed. That's kinda silly.

There are not that many superstars in the game right now. So I think you should have customized logic when the game ships that says these players can only be traded under these type of circumstances... Give the superstarts their own trade logic.

So shaq really did get traded but it was only possible after Miami laid an egg that season and we see what all they had to give up.

Also a logic that keeps silly stuff from happening like one team traded me for hinrich and then the next week wanted to trade hinrick back to me for gordon. That doesn't make sense at all.

Just like teams have dna then front offices should ship with a certain thing they are trying to do unless controlled by the user.
