I understand that the idea of "Live 365" is to keep things as realistic as possible... However, having said that, there comes a time where you have to decide what's more important: Realism or Fun-factor? By taking Nash off the team, there's really no fun in using Team Canada whatsoever.
Furthermore, if it's going to be 100% realistic, then stephenson would have to take off not only Nash, but Jamaal Magloire and Samuel Dalembert as well, since neither of them are currently on the team either. Dalembert was kicked off the team by coach Leo Rautins and has announced that he will never play for us again unless Rautins is fired. As for Magloire, he has NEVER represented Canada at any point during his career.
Listen, we are talking about a videogame, and videogames should always be fun above all else. And to the person who said "That's like putting Allen Iverson or Tim Duncan on Team USA": I disagree. The difference is, Team USA is already stacked with talent. So it's easy for you to say "just keep things realistic". American gamers aren't going to be negatively impacted by this at all. But to us Canadians, Steve's pretty much all we have to look forward to. Especially now that Dalembert is no longer a member of the team.
Not to mention the fact that Nash was advertised as a member of the team before the game was released, as he was featured in that "FIBA Teaser". So, I think it would be very unfair to remove him now after I've purchased the game. It just doesn't make much sense to me... If EA felt that Nash wasn't worthy of being on the team, then why put him there in the first place? It's not like we JUST now learned that Steve isn't active with the team. That's been common knowledge for years. So, why have him on the team to begin with? Only to remove him two weeks later?
The bottom line is... Removing Nash would have a WAY bigger negative impact on myself and other Canadian ballers as opposed to the positive impact it would have on everyone else. In other words, whether Nash is on the team or not doesn't matter to anyone but people like myself. So, why not just do us this small favor since it's really not harming anyone at all?
stephenson is a reasonable man. I know he'll do the right thing. At least, I hope he will.
