Yes indeed. That's what I was doing most of the time before Nash was taken off the roster. I know what you're going to say: "Only realistic rosters should be used online", right? Or... It's not fair that I get the competitive advantage of having a superstar like Steve Nash on my team?

Next time you are playing Live 09, just go to Canada's roster and look at this team... Without Magloire, Nash and Dalembert, Canada would be nothing. If EA were to "keep things realistic" by taking those three guys off, then they should seriously just consider removing the whole team. Just take Team Canada out of the game entirely.

And even if it is "unfair" that Nash is on the team (though I really don't see why anyone would argue that in the first place), no one HAS to play against me if they don't want to. They always have the option of backing out of the match if they don't like the idea of playing against a FIBA team. Or, they can do what most people have done with me and respond by selecting Team USA, which obviously puts ME at the disadvantage. But I don't care. I just wanna be able to use Team Canada with Mr. MVP leading the way.

At least you got Canada in the game. NZ is ranked higher than you's in the world rankings and we didn't even get into the game. Be happy that Nash might make the bench, even though he shouldn't.

I'm sorry to hear that your country didn't make it in. I truly am. But, criticizing the inclusion of Nash on Team Canada is not going to change anything in that regard. It just comes off as jealousy... And jealousy, my friend, is an ugly thing.

And please, let's just move on from this "bench" nonsense. He's the starting point guard. End of story. Unless stephenson and the EA staff say otherwise.

I'm not jealous at all. I'm just saying that things should be kept as real as possible. If that means all the NBA players in Canada have to go then they have to go. This applies to all the other FIBA teams as well. Wouldn't you rather play with the real team? What about the pg who misses out because people want Nash?

I think more people would be more happier with the real rosters instead of rosters that include superstars, just because people are crying about how unfair it is that you don't have enough quality players.

Really? Watching the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament a few months ago....I didn't notice Steve Nash starting or on the bench for the Canadian team. Yet you not only want him on the team....but you want him to start as well.

Do you also want Nash to coach? I'm sure stephensonic and EA could patch this in for you.

I can see now that reasonable discourse isn't possible here. You don't listen. You just argue blindly. It's getting a little repetitive repeating my same arguments over and over again, only to have someone say something incredibly clever like "Okay let's bring back Julius Irving then! Hehehe!!"

I'm done here. I've spent more time arguing with you people the past two days than I've spent playing the actual game itself, and that's sad.

I hope you guys continue to find enjoyment in bringing down other people's enjoyment of this game. Take care.

Chillax homie. I was just giving you a hard time. Honestly I could care less if Steve Nash is on the Canadian team or not. In fact, he can change his name to Staphi Nashizazi and be on the Iranian team and I still wouldn't give a donkey's rear end. That's how irrelevant FIBA is in Live 09.

                May God bless the Queen.

Anything reasonable went out the window when you started wanting people on teams that aren't on the teams in real life. Don't expect to be taken seriously when you're wanting stuff in the game that isn't accurate to real life.

No worries, man. I appreciate your honesty about not really caring. And I truly believe that's the case with everyone else here too, and that's what's so frustrating about this. I'm like losing my mind over this thing, it's a huge deal to me. Meanwhile for you guys it's just: "Oh it's not 100% realistic? Well, just get rid of it then."

But like you said, you guys really wouldn't care one way or the other. The only reason you guys even voiced your opinions in the first place is because I started this thread. If I had just brought this matter to stephenson's attention privately instead, this whole thing would be a non-issue. I don't think anyone would ever create a thread that reads: "Um, why is Steve Nash back on Canada!?"... Nobody would care. I think people just enjoy being jerks around here.

                    P.S. We don't have a Queen.

I always get the UK and Canada mixed up. Sorry.

p.s. didn't stephensonic say that Nash will be back on the Canadian team once the 365 rosters go live in about a week?

I think people would moan if Nash were on the Canadian team. I expect most people would to want to play the FIBA tournament mode with the up to date rosters.

I don't think that is or should be the approach for many of us here. Living in Europe, I hold FIBA's role in the game to be just as important to me as the NBA is. I want up to date and accurate rosters for the FIBA teams, not just the NBA ones.

As far as I am concerned I would love to see more global basketball leagues (Euroleague anyone?) incorporated into the game as well.

NBA Live should reflect the fact that basketball is a global game, and at least with the expansion of the FIBA content in this version EA are starting to take a step in the right direction.

Therefore I feel they should pay as much attention to updating the rosters to show this respect to the FIBA game, and that is where your Nash argument falls down for me. Treating it as a 'fun little feature' with all time Canadian starters instead of the actual rosters would ruin the point of the mode for me.

Well I'll say this..Im on the fence about live right now. But if Ricky Rubio was on Spain I would have already bought the game.

Why isnt Ricky Rubio in the game, is it just not possible for some reason?

Yes indeed. So there's really no point in keeping this thread alive anymore. Nash will be back where he belongs, as he was advertised, and the world will be a better place for it.

I appreciate the fact that you presented your concern in a mature manner, a concept that is usually quite foreign around here. But of course, I do disagree with your point. I don't think this is a matter of "respect". Is it disrespectful for Sidney Crosby to be on Team Canada in NHL 09? A player who has never competed at the Olympics or World Cup of Hockey? Of course it isn't. Let's try to keep things in perspective here. This is a videogame, man. Sidney Crosby is Canada's best player, therefore he's on the Canadian Team. Pretty simple.

At least with Nash, we are talking about a player who has represented his country on numerous occasions. The only disrespectful thing here would be to leave him off the squad after advertising him as a member of the team in official EA commercials. Since, as I've mentioned many times, that's one of the main factors that led to my purchase of this game.

But anyways, I think this thread can be locked up now. stephenson will be re-inserting Nash back into the starting lineup with the next DNA update (which is the RIGHT thing to do!) There's not much else to discuss here that hasn't already been mentioned twenty billion times.
