This started off as a good thread. I've read some really great post but, they are starting to look like every other 2k v live thread. All the OP said was that this game is good. All of the sudden people want to start bringing up how arcady 08 was, run n' gun, how much you have to edit players and sliders, yadda yadda yadda. It's the same stuff. How come someone can't just say they like the game and then leave it at that. If you don't like it than that's cool.

I have both games and both have issues. To each his own.

Everyone should just be happy it's basketball season and we aren't talking about football games.

4real I was gonna post the same thing, this is the same reason I dont post much on the 2k boards to much complaining about stupid stuff. I mean i like the game i just play it just to play it, I dont got time to find flaws and tweak sliders. I mean I'm not trying to be rude but there is a wishlist tread to tell them wht you want fixed.

So after flip flopping back and forth between NBA Live and the other game, I must say NBA Live is definitely the better game to me.

this is why it turns into a live vs. 2k thread. He didn't just say he likes live. So, this statement and the others in which he compared the two games is why it goes that way. I don't personally have a problem with whatever game some dude wants to spend his money and time on, however the standard that this game is held to vs. 2k is ridiculous. this game is fun, but to have it called the best sim of the sport by some one and flat out better is almost as ridiculous. the scary thing is, that after years of waaay below par games, this one is decent and they won't have to do much to it to satisfy here. Just make it, not 2k.

Both are good games this year (Finally), so that makes me very happy... Dont really have an opinion on which game is better because I play both and enjoy both...

Everyone just needs to remeber that Opinions are like A-Holes, everyone has one... And thats what forums are built on, Opinions...

I agree with the first half of this statement but, the second half I don't agree with.

Yes, everyone has their own personal opinions about what game they prefer. I have both games and I'm going back and forth between both. With that being said I've been own both 2k and Live boards and there are more people coming on saying that Live is not sim, Live is this it's that, etc... I hardly see anyone going on 2k board and bashing 2k and saying Live is better.

Actually, I see more 2k diehards bashing the game, saying it's not playable without sliders, coach profile changes, player tendencies, etc...

I'm all for good conversation and mature arguments but, when someone starts off by bringing up any and everything that was wrong with an EA basketball game it becomes boring, immature arguments happen and then the thread gets closed.

no offense taken. I was just giving my take on the question. His statement began with a comparison that is going to clearly draw a response. My point wasn't to debate the matter or anything, I was just answering the "why it turns into this". There are certain phrases,key words or whatever that incite a response. Words like definitely, clearly, superior, sucks, garbage, trash, are all like hot coals on message boards. They draw blood...lol. I definitely think the other game is still considerably better, but I really like playing live. But to say that with a definitive edge would probably draw feedback from someone who doesn't agree. Personally I don't know how you guys are even putting these games against each other but to each his own.

COSIGN! Definitely agree with everything you said.

I think we as human beings and sports minded individuals have a very competitive streak in us. IMO I don't think someone wants to think they are playing a worse game than others. I really think that when someone decides that they like a game they don't want to hear that another game is better than what they like. If you're not 1st you're last mentality comes into play.

I have both and I am enjoying both. So I could care less what happens. I just wish Live 09 got a fair shoot. Soooo many people want to bash it because EA made the game. I for one could care less who makes a bball game. I want it to be a fun enjoyable experience and when my boys come over it's all about competition LOL but, it still has to play well. IMO they both do. Some others don't see it that way just because of who made the game. It makes no sense to me The day I worry about who makes the game is the day I'll stop playing video games.

Im not going into all of the comparison mess because both games are solid, and a basketball fan cant ask for too much more.

The same people whining are the same ones not giving beluba stephensonmc iminurbase and others suggestions in the wishlist thread.

If you arent going to do that then you are apart of the problem. Im just playing and having fun, but there is a few people coming here just to talk about flaws.. nobody cares about that crap because they're having fun.

The things that are out of place, people have made that known through PM's and a sticky right at the top of the page.

We know there is going to be a patch coming, updates coming, and then there are things that just wont happen until 2010. If people can't accept that then they wasted their money and that's just too bad.

I agree again with Dirtyjerz.. its just what it is.

I think 2k guys do it because they fear the hell out of an exclusive licence.

Both games are very good this year. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't played one or the other.

I own both.

I find Live more fun, the controls easier to pick up and play, DNA, and the end result more realistic.

I love 2k9's plethora of customization, features, court appearance and great CPU AI.

If you have the money, you owe it to yourself to try the game you didn't buy. They're both worth the $59 or whatever you pay.

Agreed 100% Both are good this year.

But honestly I'm enjoying Live more, I just played two online games on 2k and even though I won twice, it didn't give me that urgency to play a third game.

Every time I play Live 09 I'm exciting and jumping up and down. And really into the depth of the game. And when one match is over I'm ready to go again. Already 3 games into my dynasty back to back in one day. 2-1 and about to play Game 4. lol.

The thing that Ii dont understand is, if you dont like the game, you think its flawed, or you just prefer the other game overall then why even come into the Live threads? I mean what exactly is the point?

If I dont like the Eastside, your not gonna catch me out that way. If I dont like Walmart, your not gonna catch me in there. I dont like soccer, so your not gonna catch me watching or playing it.

So again I ask, whats the point in coming in the threads if you dont like the game? If you prefer the other game how come your not in there threads? Just makes no sense at all to me.

I definitely feel this viewpoint. Im glad I'm in the position to own both without having to pick only one. I know for sure I'll enjoy the college game better, just because the immersion of the real players is not as urgent. My biggest gripe with live is the lack of individuality. All the players feel the same to me and the move set feels so limited. I feel that's really well suited to the college game.
