    NBA Live 09 PS3 In-Game Replays

I thought I would try once again to get an answer on this. Stephensonmc. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes it doesn't. It's not a court issue. And please nobody post again saying to disconnect from the Internet. That is seriously not the solution.
Again, I'm only speaking from a PS3 standpoint.

Even if some people are saying that they may not be experiencing this problem, myself and others (PS3 users only) are at a lost. Is this perhaps some type of regional issue or definitely an in-game problem that can be patched?

Can you please, please shed any light on this matter? Thank you sir.

I am still having same issues. In game replays are very choppy and I have no Sprite replays at halftime or at the end of the game.

And the sad part is as of me typing this in there have been 33 reviews of this thread. I can't believe that out of 33 reviews, none were from a producer of the game.

I've posted several messages since the game came out on this same topic. I've always tried to be respectful and non-combative in hopes of getting a definitive response. I see other threads regarding other issues that are just the opposite, but they can get an answer and sometimes a resolution in a few hours or less.

I'm sorry stephensonmc, but if you are here to answer these issues (and this one was one of the originals), it's not fair to just skip over these postings for weeks, especially when there has been patience and respectfulness shown.

I was having the same problem. I read in another forum that if you log out of your ps3 account username before the game starts and login after the game loads it should be fine. I tried it and it worked and didnt have a problem after that. Apparently the patch was realeased the week the game was released. BUT THEN, on Tuesday, after i downloaded the latest DNA rosters, the choppy replays started happening again. I tried to the log out thing again, but it didnt seem to work this time. i will try again tonight and see what happens.

I can't speak to the technical specifics, but it is a caching issue. The more you play the replays start to stutter. Popping in a different game will 'reset' the cache, but the problem will return eventually.

The good news is the issues was fixed in our patch. We still don't have a date on when it will be released (pending testing/submission time), but we will let you know when we know.

Well that's good news to hear that it was fixed in the pending patch. I'm not a techy by any means, but I did delete my cache from the PS3 browser, rebooted my system (don't know if that was necessary), popped in Live, but the replays were still choppy.

I also popped in another game with the idea of resetting the cache as you say. Then I popped in Live again, but unfortunately still got the choppy replays.

So, hopefully this patch will be a permanent fix. Thanks for the info.

Sweet. I was beginning to think we'd never get that replay issue resolved. I'm looking forward to that patch so I can admire Steve Nash's pristine shooting form over and over again. Thanks for the info!

When I changed my settings for PS3 back to 720p, the choppiness went away period.

                Weird.

                  got bored of 09

playing 2k9, where the replays arnt an issue, and the replays are more realistic. also the association is much better

will pop in live 09 when friends come over though, for its pick up and playness

                    Re: NBA Live 09 PS3 In-Game Replays

I might have stumbled across a solution to the in-game replays and highlight reel issues that have been a problem for some of us on the PS3.

First, I set the quarters to 2 minutes and did a quick game. After hitting the L1 button to bring up the stuttering/choppy replays when a shot was made, I then pressed the L3 button several times on the PS3 game controller to go through the different camera angles.

I noticed when doing this that some of the various replay camera angles are more fluid than others. Guess what, I got to see the replays unfold much smoother and I finally got the highlight reel to play after it has been missing in action for me for weeks.

I then reloaded the same teams and the next time I didn't press the L3 button at all. When I did this, I got those old stuttering/choppy replays and no highlight reel.

I reloaded 2 different teams and this time I pressed the L3 button for different camera angles within the replays. The replays were smoother again and the highlight reel also worked once again.

Now when the replays did work, they were still not 100% fluid (in my opinion), but there was a noticeable difference and they were much more enjoyable to watch.

Word of caution, I did this when the I couldn't get the rewind games to work. Hopefully it has nothing to do with it. Also, I was signed online. Let me know for the others that have had problems on the PS3 if this works for you.

                    PEACE...
