Speed slider / fast breaks

I feel like this deserves it's own thread. Thanks to all the fellas who gave me advice on this...

Fastbreaks in this game are broken...but...the speed slider definitely does make them better / worse.

If you've got it on a slower speed, i.e. under 50...most SIM style ballers may have done this...then it makes the CPU fastbreaks almost non existent.

Putting the slider over 50 doesn't remedy the problem...but it does improve it.

Hopefully Beluba and co. can patch it...but with it over 50, the game is much better.

Side note: this game has a tonne of great things in it this season. I'm enjoying it the more I play and seeing some of the genuine depth it has.

If Beluba or Steph are reading this...you really could put this thing over the top with a patch. It's "that" close to being a great game. It could go from a 7.5ish type game to a 9+ with a decent patch.

Ah I was waiting for your results in this Court_vision! I agree that increasing the slider, while not necessarily solving the fastbreaks issue, improves it somewhat.

Also, I must say I'm liking your threads man. You point out issues/flaws within the game that need to be addressed, but at the same time not bashing it like a mindless *****. I enjoy reading your posts, and always look forward to discussions that I know will be objective, fair, and most importantly geared towards improving the game and not putting it down.

I know that you've been here a long time already, but I haven't, so I'm only really starting too see the kinds of posters the people here at OS are.

Im scared that if they patch this game to get some of these things fixed, I will never be able to put it down...

I got home from work yesterday at 7am and started playing the game, when I finally finished playing it was freaking 6pm... I havent played a game that long since I owned a NES and Contra...

But yeah back on topic, the speed slider definately helps the CPU and user fastbreaks..

AFTER getting the 365 i played the mavs last night on default superstar and got smashed....

they brokeout and had a faster tempo i'll play a game now and record and upload it maybe

not sure if they changed anything but they ran over me and i cant remember that happening......

looking for your results also.....

One thing I've noticed but still need to experiment with is, for some strange reason when you pull your box out slider All the way to the left and your get back slider ALL the way to the right, your wingmen tend to get on the break more and your big men come behind them. Alittle weird but I need to experiment with it alittle more.

Vision you have a great eye man. I'm glad that despite the issues you had you still were able to see some of the good stuff going on in this game. Make usre you stop by the live 2010 wishlist with your concerns as beluba said he would be in there a lot

I really like both games this year. I am absolutely loving many aspects in LIVE. I haven't enjoyed a game this much for a long time.

Sometimes I am a bit too blunt...and maybe my negative comments come across that way...but these are video games and all good and negative comments I always make in that context.

Court_vision, rawdog, have you guys settled on a good speed slider setting? Initially I was set at 50, but watching the recent NBA games, those guys can go end to end on fastbreaks in a blur, lol. So now I'm experimenting with 55. While I want to improve the tempo of fastbreaks, I don't want to sacrifice other parts of the game as being "too fast".

Just curious, what do you guys have it at?

??? max?? WOW.. Its fast as heck on 53, I cant imagine having it at max LOL.. You must have some quick reflexes...
