    Edited / aggressive LeBron

These are with PlayMakers changes + I gave him an extra point for triple threat.

    This is CPU LeBron...not me.

He gets the ball on the perimeter...jab steps...goes past Rip (I was using the Pistons)...spins around him on the baseline and goes HARD at the hoop...

Notice also that Kwame Brown comes over and fouls...sending LBJ to the line. I increaded the D so that my players don't stand around watching like they do when you put this game in out of the box.

Edits make a huge difference to LIVE 09.

    Re: Edited / aggressive LeBron

Playmakers comments about LeBron James in NBA LIVE 09 out of the box / before edits:

    PLAYMAKERS COMMENTS BELOW

LBJ why on earth is he assigned a 23% ISO tendency and 8% cuts to basket tendency?

Then to make matters worse and truly understand why he doesn't attack the basket in this game like LBJ

His default Shooting Mentality is 83 way too low because he'll defer to his teammates too much and pass up on shots, his Penetration and Triple Threat ratings are at 85 each, wtf is that EA....

Trust me if LBJ wants to get to the basket ain't no one player going to stop him. He's easily a 95 in both categories and he's going to over power most perimeter defenders when he goes to basket.

3). Jason Kidd 73 overall 3-PT rating vs Dirk Nowitzki 69 overal 3-PT rating, Jason Kidd 79 shooting mentality vs Josh Howard 72 shooting mentality......

Now we can clearly see there's something wrong with this picture and then when you look at LBJ's shooting mentality it makes things even worse considering EA thinks LeBron will only look for his shot roughly 4% of the time more than Jason Kidd...........

To be honest I really hate editing player ratings, but it seems like you're getting great results from this (also read your other thread). Plus, no one can question Playmakers' credibility in Live edits.

Alright, I guess I'll try these edits as well. Thanks for sharing your results man!

Don't get to carried away though, I agree with many of the things you mentioned with the ratings system. No way is Kidd a better 3pt shooter than Dirk, unless there going strictly off of there 3pt % for last year and I'm not sure if kids was higher.

But in no way is Brown a good help defender, he's not even a good defender period lol. One thing I have come to understand about sports videogames is you'll never get things spot on. If someone is just a poor defender in real life, how exactly do you program that into videogame fantasy with a ratings system?

In the real world someone may be a poor defender but there not gonna get scored on every single time. But if you give them a rating of say 35 for onball defense in a videogame your gonna blow past him 65% of the time, which is not really reality.

Real live basketball or any sport for that matter is not based off of roll the dice percentages, but in a videogame that's what were left with. I don't think any sport will ever even come remotely close to mimicking real life. It's just not possible in my eyes. But I do feel as though the rating system they have now could be better.

WHY start another thread on this subject? Couldn't you have just posted this in the one you started yesterday since it falls in the same discussion?

              Re: Edited / aggressive LeBron

Overview: Brown’s career has been a well-documented disappointment to date, making him the poster boy for the argument in favor of the NBA draft age limit. His steady development over his first three years was overshadowed by the pressure he was under to perform as Michael Jordan’s hand-picked franchise future, first overall in the draft. Brown has a decent skill-set and great physical size and athleticism. He lacks the hand size necessary to play effectively with his back to the basket and hasn’t really developed his face-up game. Overall, it seems Brown’s development has been hindered by expectations and the mental strain of trying to live up to them. He is still young enough to carve himself out a solid career as a Dale Davis type if he puts the work in and stops feeling sorry for himself.

Offense: Brown spends most of his time in the post or on basket cuts. He is not a good finisher near the basket however, often losing control of the ball on the release when encountering contact. Brown’s overall shooting percentage from the field is respectable, but when you factor in how close to the basket most of his attempts are, it is clear he needs to work on this aspect of his game. Brown looks like he could develop a decent set shot out to 15-17 feet, but has never shown any consistent dedication to developing it-like most aspects of his game. He does get to the free throw line at a solid rate, but shoots an incredibly poor percentage there. His FT% steadily and shockingly dropped from 71% as a rookie to 41% in 07-08. He’s not a bad passer, but he turns the ball over far too much to earn too many points here.

Defense: This aspect of Brown’s game has slipped a bit since he returned from injury and got traded to the Grizzlies. When he was a part of the Lakers big man rotation, Brown showed some promise on the defensive end. Brown has a great combination of size and speed and at his best he can be a tough man defender. Brown isn’t much of a shot-blocker, but he’ll body up and challenge shots effectively when motivated. His team defense is hit-or-miss depending on the evening. He has the ability to help and recover, but doesn’t always bring the energy and focus he needs to make all his rotations. He’s also a decent rebounder, although not quite as good as you might hope considering his tools.

CV, I hear what you're saying, but the tendency ratings are directly from Synergy and is a service the Cleveland Cavaliers pay for themselves.

You make other good points (Playmakers) though.

Hopefully, these edits are put on EA Locker eventually by Playmakers.

I definately will not be editing the entire league in this game.

Steph I see you are looking into what he (playmakers) is preparing. I hope you can do some tweaking of the official EA rosters with the upcoming updates.

It's no telling how long it will take Playmakers to finish this project.

What about the ratings though Steph?

In your game, out of the box, LeBron is a passive 3 point shooter...

After edits, he attacks the rim with aggression.

Surely you want some sort of realism with the likely MVP?

Editing the star players / key players though imrpoves the game immensely.

                      Brown was just an example...

I am mainly focusssed on Bron, Wade etc driving / attacking the hoop.

If you're happy with passive wingmen + slashing guards shooting 3 balls all day...that's up to you.

Aggression is there with some edits though. It's up to you

Absolutely! And that'll change. I just can't speak on the shipped disc ratings b/c I wasn't here when it was done.
