So, how do you guys figure out these moves?

Do they have to happen on certain spots on the floor or in certain situations? Can you practice them in the gym?

I know for me, it was just a matter of trying based off of the mechanics of the players and the game.

Not a big fan of the Mavs, but I love the way Dirk plays for a big man. So I utilize him in the same matter as I watch him play.

Iso at the top of the key, pump fake, drive, hit the Right Joystick button to go into the backdown position off the drive animation, feel my opponent, and then fade back the other way on my shot...

what do you have after all that...Dirk's Fade Shot and Go To Move...Simple.

I guess I don't see the big difference between Garnett's fadeaway and someone else's fadeaway. It's a fadeaway.

He has his own though where he does the back and forth shake first

Dirk has the fade where he holds his knee up

They can all do fadeaways, then some have their own style fades also

Oh yea! There's definitely a difference. Not only in form but in release as well...

With KG's fade (which is by far the sickest move in the game to me) you can feel how smooth he moves just like in the real life and he lets the ball go so high, it's hard to block (aside from the poor interior defense in the game.)

The same with Dirk and Kobe... Yea, a fade is a fade, but you gotta think about how and when you're using them. Dirk's fade is pretty much vital when you're going against a shot blocker, because of the same reason as KG. The release is really high. You just can't block it. The form is so authentic too... He never leaves the ground on the shot, so the high release is compensation, just like real life.

Kobe's got two fades I believe, but both are made for the same reason which is separation. There's his driving fade where you drive and pull back for a fade off the dribble and then there's one for backing down your opponent. This works well for the pesky defenders that don't wanna give you much of an inch on the perimeter. This will help you get a shot when you feel that you're just not gonna get to the rim against a certain opponent.

Try not to think of the Go-To-Moves as just something to make the game look "authentic". Try to use them, find out if there's more than one, and then utilize them to your advantage. These players have them for a reason.

I hate how they use the analog to perform these shot. They had these in previous Lives too.

                      KG has two fades.

One is his fade when he's posting up and in-contact with the defender.

The other is when he has his back to the basket (R3), but is not in contact with the defender. That's the shake and fade.

The latter looks beautiful. I think both have the same release, but the shake simply makes it much sweeter.

I'll have to give it a look then.
