The majority are triggered by holding L-stick to the player's left or right and pressing shoot. Baron Davis is the easiest example to point out -- when you do that combination, he does his step-back fadeaway. Some players have their go-to moves triggered from a back to the basket stance like Melo, and you just need to do a fadeaway from that position to trigger them.
