One of the EA developers made a good point about this in a message on this forum. He pointed out that this is an important issue, but it took the community until after the first patch to find it.
Sure it's not a paid job for community people to find and report issues, but there's a lot more hours of play after release than can be matched by any testing team.
What's important is that the issue is known now. Ideally someone would have a change of heart and release a patch to fix it. But if not then we hope it gets fixed next year, and do our best to remind the developers to fix it for next year.
