expected online cheese...was surprised...

So I just bought the game yesterday. I pop the game in, play about a half of a game and then immediately go online. I figure that if I play the game online, I will be introduced to every game flaw known to man because that's typically the scenario. I do a quick search for an opponent, and boom I'm there...the dude picks the Lakers and right away my cheese antenna go up...I figure what the heck, I grab the Suns and away we go. Long story short, I expected to get blown out by an enormous amount visa vi every exploit known to man, but I hung in there, not really knowing the controls that well, not knowing the offensive sets and how well certain defenses work. I only lost by 10. I did see some lameness (excessive breakaways, made shots with dudes right in their face) but it wasn't what I expected. I have to say I'm some what impressed. And I have to admit, this game is more fun that the 2k release. Yes it seems to be a bit run and gun heavy online but if you play it right I think you can compete...even against the cheese.

TRust me...the cheesers are out there...I played the #2 ranked guy "Ucantseemeinlive"and his whole game was select the Lakers and throw long passes downcourt to a streaking Kobe playing PF. Radmanovich at PG and Odom at SG...I forgot where the other players were because as soon as I saw Kobe at PF I knew it was gonna be a clown show...But I wanted to see exactly what lengths these fools go to to get a win so I decided to start the game and kinda just watch what this guy was doing.

Like I said it was long passes or Pick and Roll every single play with every player on Turbo and quickstriking all over the place...It was disgusting...So those fools are out there. I will say this though when you play someone who plays realistically the game is great.

For me though when someone selects the Lakers I move to the next game because you know that they will almost definitely gonna be cheesin

Not really true for any sports game...When someone is commited and devoted to cheesing there is really no way to enjoy or compete with them...Thats the whole essence of what cheesing is about...Its about only playing to win as opposed to playing in a way that is enjoyable to both parties and in a realistic manner.

Play any top guy on this game and I'll guarantee you that you'll either be cheesin with them to stay in the game or you'll have to quit or make them quit

Play any top guy on this game and I'll guarantee you that you'll either be cheesin with them to stay in the game or you'll have to quit or make them quit

Ouuuhhh friends.
If somebody put a Star SG like PF i will quit,sure.
If he makes the substitution when the match had been started and after more than 10 seconds since the tipoff, then i will call intentional foul all his ofense time and i will loose my ofense time with 5 sec inbound or 8 sec.
He will win 100-0 , but it is sure that he will be bored,more when at the end i will disconnect my cable.
If EAsports wants , a SG or PG or SF or PF or C only could play as his First (or second) position.

LOL...I like that...now thats truly fighting fire with fire...I won't say what I did to the dude but he ended up getting the disconnect through sheer boredom...LOL

I know the 1-3-1 dogg and your right...Its a nice little change of pace neutralizing D. It wasn't like I didn't know what to do...I really just wanted to see what the so called top dudes are doing...The way they play is not hoop so I just wanted to pretty much confirm what I already knew...I prefer a more tactical game where cats call plays, look for the mid-range game, play subs and do not attempt to exploit all the lil problem areas with the game.

I had to hit ole boy wif the Okee Doke though...I mean I aint no cheeser but I'm old school so I know exactly how to irritate those kinds of dudes so I had to "give him da bizness"

I dunno. That's a little more than cheese. lol. That's just disrespect. I would love to play against him, though. I would just be sure to dunk every time so dude couldn't get out those long breaks.

I know how that is, though, that's why I play 5 on 5 only. There is almost no such cheese in 5 on 5... because you can stop anything. The one thing that is kind hard to stop, for me, is the alley ooping if people know how to do it well, but it CAN be stopped.

If all people do the same(my tactic?,ha ha) with the cheeser , they leave the NBA Live 09 and would play Football,Hockey,....

I know it is poor, but i love this game and hate the cheeser.
