Quickstrike moves are still irrelevent, what is the point of being able to dribble in place at will, I just think its pointless. Plus all of the crossover moves involve you being touched by a defender, which is not real life, and 2k8 had this problem. Its plenty of times in real life where dribblers blow by the defense without being touched or bodied by a defender on the perimeter, but in Live every crossover move has you getting bodied and either being freeded up afterward, or bumped back. So with Iverson in the open court, if a defender is back, he will always get a body on you, and that is bull. 2k's dribble moves are perfect in any situation, as long as you can learn the difficult *** combinations you are good.
Something thats terrible in Live that all of you fanboys ignore, the fact that the CPU will shoot a jumpshot from 2 inches in front of the rim. Why the **** does the CPU attack the basket and get there, only to shoot a jumper that I will block continously. That is not real basketball, and that is really a game killer for me. People say Live has a great midrange game, I dont understand how it is better than 2k's in any way. No, the defense in Live does not force you to use the midrange game, cause I can easily score 80 points in the paint with Bron just as easy as I can do it in 2k, maybe even a lil easier. In 2k, sure defenders are in shooters faces all the time, but I always use the midrange game to success because I try to, same as in Live, but neither game forces you to do it so I dont see how Lives can be better.
The franchise mode aint even close, it cant even be mentioned in the same breath so I will leave that out of this rant. Back to gameplay, the jumpshots are horrible and all of them has jerky *** movements that makes players look like robots. Every team plays the same and walks the ball up the court, even if there is no defenders back on defense, D Wade will walk the ball up the court and wait on the defense. Every perimeter player takes 70% jumpers, so Bron will not use his physical size at all, cause players are more programmed to create jumpers (Yall think thats realer than 2k cause 2k kills the paint 70% of the time).
Im still looking for a clear advantage that Live has, but I cant find one, so personally (no disrespect) I think yall are retarted or fantisizing about having another basketball game on 2k's level. I hear dudes say all the time "Live just feels fresh", fool, hell yeah it feels fresh, you been playing the other game for years dummy. How the hell does a game that clearly does not do a thing better get so much praise on here, its shocking to see all of the same compliments from yall that are irrelevent to what makes the game better, do all of yall think the same.
Can somebody please explain something Live does better than 2k other than CPU play, cause yes, I would love to have Lives half court system in 2k, 2k would put Live out of business for good with that. But if you take that away from Live it is coaster/frisbie material.
Live has numerous things to work on, and I still think they will take 2-3 years to implement all of the needed improvements. In 2k's case, give 2k9 the DNA feature next year with NO other improvements, its still 10 times better than Live, and that is a fact to the fullest. Maybe I will help to wake some of you dudes up to reality.
