Team AI thread : who is right / who is wrong...

This could be helpful as we move forward. Poeple could post which teams they think are represented well in this game / which are not.

The teams that are done well in this game are amazing. Pretty much the most NBA realistic basketball gaming I've seen. The teams that aren't done so well...aren't so good.

I think we all agree that the Spurs are just about perfect.

IMO the Lakers are very close also. They run a beautiful triangle in this game. Easily the best I've seen in a basketball game. I'm a big triangle fan and in LIVE it's a work of art

Also...the Cavs are done pretty well. Big Z gets it perfectly, LBJ drives and kicks. More LeBron carrying the ball would be ideal.

The Rockets are just about perfect. More T-Mac and Ron carrying the ball would be ideal.

I watched the Lakers v Heat game the other day and the Heat are also done extremely well in this game.

    Not so well IMO
Knicks, Warriors - no fast paced game.
Nets - no real post game, but in Live their bigs still post up.

Add as many as you can...

Yi and Lopez post up, and they're doing it more and more as they develop.

Cool...that's what I want to hear. I've not seen a Nets game for a couple of weeks. I just remember Joshe Boone being posted up a lot when I first played them in LIVE.

Probably the main area = fast break teams.

The Knicks etc just run at you all day in the NBA...

I'd like to add that the JAZZ are done really well.

Yeah but in Live they post up a bit more than they should. Vince takes a good amount of shots but Harris needs a bit more of the offense revolved around him.

It's not bad could just use some slight improvement.

Re: Team AI thread : who is right / who is wrong...

Like has already been mentioned, each team needs more plays that have someone other than the PG intiating the play.

Also, getting better off the ball movement for players that run through screens alot would also help improve the way each team plays.

Iverson, Richard Hamiliton, Redd, Ray Allen, Ben Gordon etc. would be more like real life if they ran through off the ball screens more.

For that reason, I would say that the Pistons, Bucks, and Bulls are not done right.

Shot distribution for these teams are done well, I just think the way these players are set up could be done better.

My other issue is with the Bigs that play facing the basket alot and shoot 3's regularly.

Sheed, Jamison, Troy Murphy, Dirk, Okur, Brian Cook etc....

When I play against these players, they do not spend enough time behind the arc spacing the floor like they do IRL.

Shot distribution for most teams are great with Live 365. I think the way the players get in position to score needs to be tweaked for Live 10 though.

Done right (really 2 many to name) here are a few though:

-Hornets - I love playing against CP3, they run alot of pick and roll in this game just like IRL.

-Raptors - Seeing Bosh operating from the high post is great. And they run alot of Pick and Rolls with Calderon.

Also, the Raptors run sets that have Bargani set up behind the 3pt. arc alot. One of the few teams in the game that does this for 3pt shooting bigs.

-Hawks - The cpu runs alot of ISO's and post ups for Joe Johnson that are sweet.

-Magic - Hedo has burned me a couple of times with his 3's. Also, they run a nice set with Hedo and Howard running a pick and roll. It's pretty tuff to stop.

            BTW, great thread.

When I play against these players, they do not spend enough time behind the arc spacing the floor like they do IRL.

              .
              Agree 100% with these...

More screens for guys like Rip and Redd would be ideal.

I agree with just about all the posts put up here . . . I'll add Dallas to the list of teams that are done right, they run plenty of high post sets with Dirk and he also runs some nice pick and pop with JKidd. I'll also say that I played both Jazz and Bulls last night, and I think Okur took plenty of jumpers/threes in that game . . . Also the Bulls ran plenty of 1-4 sets with Derrick Rose and he drove to the basket at will just like IRL.

Beluba, Hopefully you guys will expand the CPU AI's playbooks for this year.

One thing I'm noticing is the AI repeating plays too often with various teams and this shouldn't be the case.

For example, there is a baseline pick and roll play that the AI runs waaaay too often for multiple teams. Especially, when playing against the Heat, Blazers, and Kings just to name a few.

I just do not want future versions of Live's AI playcalling to become predictable. Every team's playcalling/sets should vary from game to game, so that every game is unique.

I'm finding that baseline screen play to be VERY redundant.

The game is too dependant on play for the A.I too score.. guys arent just "going with the flow" enough. also the plays are soooo easy to detect, theyre so slow to develop.

Fastbreak teams are terrible in LIVE...

As it is now, I am playing just one off games with the latest DNA between teams like the Cavs / Celtics / Lakers / Spurs and the game is great and realistic.

But put on a Warriors v Knicks game and it's nothing close to realistic.

I think mostly because of the branching animations and the ability for the defense to glue to a player during a fast break. Many times it breaks up what should be fast breaks.

I also think the PG is programmed to pull up and set up a play a large % of the time.

I've seen the CPU PG have a 3 on 1 and stop at the top of the key and wait to set up a play many times.

actually if you EDIT the PG " go to guy" to about 40-50 and raise his "dunk vs lay up freq" he will drive and or dish off that 3 on 1 80% of the time.....

every team in this game plays wrong, I hear people praising the spurs, cavs etc.

i have never seen the default PG drive to the hoop in transition because he saw an opening.

i have yet to see an bad pull up in transition

i get good games and i love this game but thats because i edit it to play to my liking, REALISTIC is subjective, the ratings and dna is also subjective people say no its synergy stats which is someone's interpretation.

                              its too scripted

"go to guy" is a rating i wish more people would experiment with, sliders are important but this rating governs alot of how games actually play out
