Returned to Live after 4 year Hiatus.

Well I have always been a NBA Live fan since the series started. Just in general all B-Ball games from Double Dribble to Arch Rivals to Lakers vs Celtic to Bulls vs Blazers to LIVE 95 to Live 2005. I had just about every b-ball game in between those years (spoiled child I was) .

Well anyways since Xbox 360 2K6-2k7-2K8-2K9 became my yearly buys. Well this year it has converted back to NBA Live 09. I became bored with 2K9 and said let me give 09 a try. Well I just fell in love with them all over. They clearly dont have the amount of animations or maybe even half of that what 2k currently has to offer. BUT I feel the pure gameplay basketball direction is heading in a better path than 2k's currently is. I've always felt that it would get better eventually because of the rebuilding process as would 2k get old/stale from porting over.

Well to be honest I love the team play aspect of Nba Live and came here to see if I can give/get some information that needs to be addressed to further the quality of that great feature. Forgive me if these have been said a million times already. But seeing how I just started looking in the NBA Live threads Im sorry.

    1) There needs to be a turnover ratio 5/1 for people who wanna throw full court passes for fast breaks. It sometimes ruins the experience when you run into these types which is probably 50%-75% of the people who play this mode it seems.

    2) The inbound pass steal is terrible and it again takes away from the game integrity. It shouldnt be as simple as it is.

    3) NO Boxing out makes rebounding a hassle big time.

    4) Having a Greg Oden in the middle of a 2-3 but yet a Guard can drive in and make sum of the most ridiculous shots really need to be toned down to a more realistic. They should fear coming inside for a layup with him being there.

    5) People who quit should get credited with a big 0 for there position. And there should be a % (just like playing 1 vs 1 %)telling us who is gonna play and who is gonna quit. Also a team vote off should be allowed incase you get a point guard who plans on being MJ all game.

I could go on with more but I would love to hear some feedback on whats being done for these 5 topics. Thanks Ken

Same here i like the game and it has a lot of potenial it really feels like a basketball game but they really need to put more camera options i mean come on thats not so hard to do. Also if they can add more animations after shots and after fouls it would make the game better. EA is finally doing something this year tho it seems i am happy with the game and like it more then 2k9. Also i heard the 2k guy who was doing the shots went to EA so 2010 will have a lot more signature shots

I was trying to figure out the same thing... Most of the dude's complaints were about online and this guy goes and posts and slider set, not helping anything...

maybe you should re-read his post. He's talking about how the players play as a team on court, not online!

I think I helped him greatly, both of you should try reading the complaints overall, none of them have to do with online but instead with CPU AI.

All you saw is team and play in the same sentence and automatically thought he was talking about online. None of his complaints have anything to do with online. Might want to proof read the post and see that most of his observations have to do with offline A.I. improvements. Not one thing is mentioned as online nor has anything to do with online.

Really? None of them have to do with online? Your reading comprehension is terrible.

So, I guess the team play feature has absolutely nothing to do with online? I guess when I choose team play mode, it doesn't put me 5 on 5 with other real life humans? I guess that's not online at all.

Again, I guess playing against the cherry pickers online has nothing to do with online.

People who abuse the simplicity of the inbounds steal? Yep, nothing to do with online.

You can't box out in team play, but you can offline.. So I guess this statement has nothing to do with online either.

People who constantly attack the rim without consequence, regardless of the defensive strategy. I guess that can be taken care of with your precious offline sliders too, huh?

Well, where's my head at? And here I was thinking that people who quit out of the games had nothing to do with playing online, and could be solved by a simple set of sliders..

Sorry Shadows, but you have really made yourself look dumb in this thread. EVERYTHING the guy posted had something to do with online and you go and post a slider set saying it can take care of all of his problems. And then you go and try to say that his problems were with the CPU AI and not online. Maybe it's you that should read his post because you've not had one correct line in this entire thread.

Im sorry I didnt really make my points clear here lol......I was referring to the online team play.........BUT the sliders are working out really well in my franchise so atleast I did get that out of this thread. Thanks Bshadows

I love the TeamPlay mode online and would enjoy it so much more if these issue's were ever addressed. I was actually hoping that one of the producer's would jump in and say a little something but maybe its too early to address this kinda stuff.

Re: Returned to Live after 4 year Hiatus.

I too have come back to NBA Live after playing 2K's basketball games for the past few years. I've really gotten dissappointed with 2K games and have decided I'm no longer buying them.

I got bored with 2K's basketball

MLB 2K9 is a louzy game

NHL 2K9 is pretty crappy too.

Front Office manager is a waste of money. Great concept behind game but ruined by 2K. Prizefighter was bad too.

For years I was a EA Sports fan. I'm getting back into that this year.

Madden, NCAA FB, NHL, NBA Live are all great games. In my opinion NHL was best sports game of the year. I wish there was a baseball game from EA. MVP Baseball was a great game.

I have been thinking of trying Live 09 as I have heard many good things. Front Office not so much, MLB 2k9 is not bad, NHL 09 out did NHL 2k9 this year. EA has risen up again and I think they are improving their non Madden games.
                      Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

Everything you mentioned is the reason why I gave up the online team play stuff.

It would be such an awesome mode if they just took out the exploits.

But it's damn near unplayable with all that stuff in there and a bunch of kids online who just try to win at all costs.

I really haven't had the bug issues in the game that much but, I understand people being frustrated with 2k sports. That's why I have been thinking about Live this season. I made the swith to EA's NHL this year, basketball may follow since I don't have a choice w/ college BB. Baseball I am stuck w/ MLB 2k until 2012
