    NBA Draft

I don't have this game but i'm thinking about picking it up. Can someone give me a detailed idea of how scouting and the draft works in this game? Can you edit incoming rookies before the draft? How do the rookies look? What kind of information do you get when scouting a prospect? I didn't find a thread dedicated to this in 09 and i didn't want to search all the gameplay request pages. Any info would be appreciated.

The draft pretty much sucks. It really needs to be redone. No you cant edit incoming rookies, i dont know what to tell you about how they look...you get a letter grade on their attributes when you scout.

There is no thread into this, a lot of people haven't really taken the time out to work with it.

The draft doesn't suck, as the person said above! But it's complex in certain area's. You can edit your rookies after you get them on your team. Overall the signing and offering during scouting will take continuous attention throughout the season. Your draft will give you many options, sometimes ones you don't like, but like the real draft you can make trades for other picks and also a lot of players will be cut, so you can get veterans who have been opted out on teams as well.

But as far as rookies go, a lot of people haven't discussed it, because there is too much too it and its complicated. Even on the schedule you have, you really have to spend hours doing drafts, signings and other offers. It's time consuming, you just have to get the game and check it out for yourself to get your own assessment!

This actually sounds appealing to me, kind of like how college hoops 2k8's recruiting was complicated and time consuming. This post made me want to pick it up a little more, anyone else want to add anything?

Naa CKW11 is right lives Dynasty mode is a joke. Most of the rookies look similar and you will frequently see black guys with blond hair think Sisqo with a fro and you cant even go in and edit the draft class.

If you want a good dynasty experience 2k9 might be the away to go because there are a lot more innovative features like player roles and player morale, this allows you to strategize your lineups and makes it more important to pay attention to your players needs.

Your star player's wont be happy if you put them 8th in the rotation while in live you can basically change your player rotations to your liking but it doesn't matter cus the CPU resets any player rotations you set and when star players on other teams get hurt, the cpu team will never take them of the IR list even though the player is fully healed.

To be honest i wouldnt pay much mind to Bshadows becuase he thinks this is the best NBA sim of the decade and will say every feature in the game is awsome if you asked him. But hey its your money so its your call but dont get fooled by biased people telling you everything is perfect even though they dont know the facts.

And lives dynasty is nowhere near the level of CH 2k8s legacy mode so dont go picking up the game expecting that same level of depth and innovation or you'll be disappointed. Even 2k9 has nothing on CH 2k8s legacy mode athough it comes closer than live.

You've never even played Live 09! I guess you forgot where we can see your full gamertag and profile. And see all the games you've played.

Why discuss or post something you don't know jack about, go back to playing Live 08. Because you've never played 09, and take all that College Hoops mess somewhere else, Live's Dynasty is very good and it's nice to have you work harder to get points to completely upgrade your staff of coaches to help you during your season and during the off season, to where you will have harder workouts to make your team better.

I also like the idea of veterans getting cut because that never happens in NBA 2k9. I'm not sure if Live has a veteran's minimum but i know that 2K doesn't, so you can never get veterans for that discounted price.

As far as upgrading your coaching staff, can't you just hire new coaches? Cause in 2K you can. I wish you could bring in fired head coaches or former players as assistants, but that may be a few years away.

In Live you have a point system, where your rewarded based off how good you play, so you can just sign anyone and upgrade your staff. I don't mean just coaches, I mean full staff as in trainers, medical help, offense and defense trainers, etc. So the more points your rewarded you can buy the new staff or should I say hire them, because a sorry team just isn't going to get the best of everything to become better.

And yeah, seeing veterans get cut and then signing a 1 or 2 year deal with your team is a nice touch.

Trying to get personal and doesn't make sense. 30 year old virgin, yeah if my son heard you say that he'd laugh. But that's besides the point I won't stoop to your level. And no I didn't look at your account trying to get dirt, but based off your words you obviously haven't played the game, because your statements were lies. And I was just trying to see if you even owned it or played it.

Also I own over 200 games, I'm trying to get all 1000 point achievements to get on the top of the OS achievement board, again another subject.

At least I can give valid points on titles since I own them, I don't see how you can give a valid assessment on a game when you don't own it or played it, how can you give this man an valid opinion / statement. When I know this so call friend you have that owns the game, I'm sure he hasn't let you sit over his house and play a 82 game season and playoffs and finals just to see the draft. And don't say you simmed it because even that takes almost 3 hours. And if your over a friends house that much, your the one that really needs a woman. I think mine is just fine and she loves Sonic .

Anyway don't get mad at me because I called you out, it was just the truth, I know you love 2ksports, and you wanted reason to hype of CH 2k8. I mean damn I did just do rosters for those didn't I, did you check 2kshare, but you want to call me out for being sensible to this game. Unlike most people I give every title the benefit of the doubt, and I've knocked Live 09 in areas too, check the threads below, but Dynasty and Draft wasn't one of the things that plagued this game. Now if you want to talk about the Dynasty in NCAA BB 09 that's a different subject.

Anyways have a great day buddy! Too bad your statement to diss me didn't make sense nor fit the bill. You got personal and all your basis were way off, good attempt though. Correction I'm 33, and I love Sonic too! (in my 3rd grade voice: He's so awesome dude!)

Lol you know what naaa i don't feel like arguing with you, but man im surprised you have a kid. Im sure he would like to know that you go around lookin at other peoples profiles and personal ish then this nig goes and makes a lil doodle on his cpu using paint to show his internet powers.

Well sorry dude i have a busy schedule and dont have time to argue to a blind biased idiot and dang who told you i was a 2k fanboy, i said this a long time ago and ill say it again im a fan of the sport and will choose to buy the better game. But whatever you win tuff guy you internet powers are strong im too busy to go back and forth with you.

I suggest you dont go snooping around on other peoples personal stuff and talking dirt when you dont know the facts, its pretty sad that a 30 year old would behave like that, have fun getting all the achievements in live but ive got better things to do.

                      Peace!
