Re chris paul he also plays good defense vs his opponent at his osition and holds them below their averages in an overall standpoint... At least he did a year ago

Really, it isn't necessary to be a lockdown defender at the point guard position. Why? Because the opposing point guards are such talented dribblers, have tricky first steps, and boast tremendous athleticism. It is virtualy impossible to completely stop them. More important is that you do not try and rip their dribble or you will pay for it. You really want to get the opposing point guard to turn his back to the basket since a pass or shot can't be made from that position.

As for who the best defending point guards are? Royal Ivey and Lindsey Hunter are still quite solid defenders.

A certain #9 in Boston feels disrespected

He certainly has the body(long and athletic) to d up. A little thin if they get him to the paint though.

Very true, but how many PGs can post up (there's a few no doubt, but not too many) or can drive and finish with strength like LeBron?

I'd say Rondo and Hinrich are the two best man-up defensive PGs in the league

I dont know..Defensive DNA, sounds neat, but I could envision it allowing people to play D on auto pilot. Let the ratings take care of that.

I think DNA on offense could be expanded to reflect how players respond in pressure or clutch situations .

Some players are able to ratchet it up a notch, while others become clankers and run away from shots.. Instead of having a generic clutch attribute, a players hot/ cold zones and offensive tendencies could change in tight, late game situations.

Can't be any worse than 2K9 literally letting the CPU control your selected player on defense and play perfect D almost all the time

I don't quite understand what you mean here? You can only control one player, so shouldn't the other 4 out there play defense the way they would in real life, based off the ratings given? If you are controlling the player, DNA pretty much goes out the window I think cause if you don't control them right, they won't do right.

I think I understand what you are saying. If they can somehow have defensive DNA tendencies that you have to use properly like on O, that would be great.

I was envisioning the worst case scenario: People just switching off defenders when the man they are guarding gets the ball, and never actually playing.

                              They do that already
