All the stuff about presentation and visuals is all good, but I'm still afraid...

that a great game might be ruined because like in Live 09, the players won't feel like they have any weight to them.

IMO in 09, controlling players was a chore. It was like every player was on skates, or, for you shooter enthusiasts, it was like if you played an FPS and turned the sensitivity up to a bazillion.

I hope this'll be fixed for Live 10...

eh, there's no real reason to be stressing over it...we'll just have to wait and see. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

The developers have said time and time again. When you load up NBA Live 10, it will look and feel like a totally different game. Which means any thought of things that were in past Live's making it into Live 10, esp. thing you dislike... is slim to none. Sit back and relax, the game ships Oct. 6th, should be fantastic.

live 09 didnt skate really. 2k9 skated alot with their last gen engine still in place.

although they did feel really bouncy.

but again, that team is GONE. its a NEW team. the decade starts ANEW!!

i honestly never knew id buy another Live game again after 2005. but 2K9 went down the gutter and Live 10 looks amazing.

If anything it felt like there wasnt enough control/freedom...live 09 kind of suffered from the same lack of control nba 2k9 gave...too much animation and i never felt like the player did what i wanted them to do when it came to the quickstrike moves.

I want the same responsive controls older nba games gave us like nba 2k6-nba2k7 and nba live 2000-2005...but with better defense and more realistic one on one moves. 2k8-2k9 has waaaay too much canned animation and un-responsive controls...live 09 had some good player movement and such but it also over-did the canned animation...why can't we have similar animations but just SHORTER to where we can link them up the way we want to..you know a shorter window for controller input..so we can have more degrees of freedom?

Mike spoke about having greater control of the game....than in previous titles...so lets wait and see.

Maybe he is not explaining himself properly...am sure he meant something different.

I agree w/ Nokstar. It pretty much felt like I wasn't controlling my player. I'm just happy to hear that the movement is more fluid and easier to maintain.

Basically. This thread is surprising(well maybe not, this is OS). Live was the only NBA game to actually have foot planting so I don't understand the sliding comments.

Also I'm probably in the minority, but I'll sacrifice some control to have the game look more realistic, which is what I thought Live did with some of the contact dribble and shot animations.

Guys will complain about not having control(no one in particular), then turn around and say "oh the game doesn't look realistic". You can't have both in this generation. It's just not possible yet. I'd rather have a realistic looking game where I pay for bad choices controlling my players(still tight controls though), than a game that is more forgiving but doesn't look realistic. That's just me though.

I don't agree with skating but I do think Live 09, and the past few Lives have all had a problem with the way they controlled. Maybe people that played Live a lot got used to it but it felt sort of unresponsive in some parts and the animations just didn't feel or look as realistic as they could have. I do think Live 10 will be a lot better though mainly because I believe in the new people developing the game.

I preferred Live's control much more than 2k's...because at this point it does seem to be a more simplified and easier way of control for me. Footplanting, the momentum they had, they should build on like when I guy ran full force at you on D, and you moved to the side, he slid like Bryon Russell trying to recover from his mistake.

Those kinds of things make the game more realistic.

If you're afraid that this game wont move like 2k then be disappointed now because that game moves almost too well to a fault when you're sliding into animations and into moves... there may not be a happy medium but i'd rather have the footplanting and go from there.
