Re: DO YOU THINK THERE WILL BE ANKLE BREAKERS

I think they should have crossover animations but not neccesarily Anklebreakers, that sounds so Arcadish and street style.

..For example momentum on Defense should play a role in whether the animation triggers or not, and they should have more than one animation. They should actually have several animations for different oocasions.

Say i have D-Wade, i'm sizing him up, he reaches i go Left with a hard dribble then do a Step back, but the CPU doesn't actually fall but you could see him fail to recover and kinda stumble on the step back. Or just real cross animations that you would see IRL nothing over the top.

But momentum should def. play a role, and whether or not you actually cross the cpu

Re: DO YOU THINK THERE WILL BE ANKLE BREAKERS

If it's in the game, it should be in the game...

The thing is that we only don't want it there because of the abuse. Live 09 (I didn't play it), but from the videos I saw, it was really easy to break ankles or at least cross someone up.

The problem is the frequency. We videogamers are much more likely to want to isolate/size-up and attempt to beat guys off the dribble. Deron Williams, for instance, when he sizes up, I'll say that he crosses his guy probably 7 out of 10 times. But those 10 attempts may span the course of 3 games.

For us, we tend to lean on the isolations too much. So it looks unrealistic when we see guys getting crossed up so often.

That's one thing I like about 2k's isomotion. They made it complicated. My friends who casually played the game figured out how to win without using crossovers. They became lenient on the basic fundamentals and aspects of basketball rather than the flashiness. One thing about 2k is that when you pickup and play it, you find it extremely difficult to do crossovers and to dunk. Sure, after time you can abuse it (as anything). But it's not easy when you first start.

Live? I think they may try too much to cater to "pick up and play" and therefore things get abused too much. It's a fine line to walk honestly, I can't say they're wrong for it and I can't say 2k's wrong for a complicated control system.

So I have no problem with them adding the animations to the game. Frequency is the only issue as well as adequate defensive counters.

I think they should be in, but definitely rare... since we all know they got ankle insurance now
