    Defensive closeouts.

Players like Ron Artest should put there arms out on closeouts... i tihnk it would make them look a lot more lifelike, engaged and... "fundamental".. instead of just closing out with their arms at thier sides... or jumping to contest...

i didnt know where else to put this.

I agree but just about everyone should do it not just the defensive stars. Closing out on a jumpshooter (but not fouling) is bball 101 and should be just about mandatory.

Maybe they could tie it to the defensive awareness ratings as to how quick they close out ie Artest closes out quickly while a worse defensive player closes out more slowly?

They had this in Live 09, putting a hand in front of the shooter's face ala Shane Battier..but it happened rarely, even with the closeout slider at 100.

Hopefully they do a better job this year.

Random post, gsw. We've improved closeouts and jumper challenges. The cool thing is that you can do them manually as well.

My bad. when i posted this si was liek 11pm at night i just happend to be thinking about the game... i was really tired.

anyway. I remmeber i Think college hoops 2k4..maybe 2k3 the animations the defender did when holding the left trigger (L trigger defense back then) were more active and engaged.. arms up moving around tryign to disturb the shooter.

granted in College basketball its more dramatic, but in the NBA games recently there were never any animations that mimic'd this kind of actiity on the ball.

                Hope that makes sense...

If its in and controllable...even better

oh you're just referring to the onball def. idles. yeah, there's some face guarding in our anims this year. i don't remember how they looked in choops2k4, but i haven't had any issues with them looking too stagnant in Live 10.

                    Does the user control them?

Not the hands on idles. That's all baked into the asset.

It would be kinda impossible to control the hand movements. (no real point either)

but in College hoops it looked great.. it "looked" like the defender was engaged and active on D moving his hands and arms around putting them in the face of the on ball player... it was one of those "small" things that made that game so good.
