Guys,
when you play our demo and pass using a new passing mechanic that Mike will talk about later. Those look pretty good.Follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/stephensonmc

Re: My Gamescom Demo Video
Guys, ignore the comments and just report them. The bickering back and forth doesn't help.
Love all the deflections on passes... but, and I've said this before, similar issues are popping up from 2k's engine.
Bynum walked early on in the video. Pumpfake, 2 steps, no dribble.
Definitely looks better than last year and the presentation I'm actually liking. Re: My Gamescom Demo Video
So now since I am finally back from work I have a little bit of time to tell you guys some of my impressions. I am not going deep, because I actually just played 4 games at total and since I mostly played 2k9 und CH08 it took me some time to adjust. However I also played Live 09 for a while.
But one thing to notice...It was human vs. human game so I unfortunately cannot talk about the AI.
Before you start the game you can set up your starting five and mess around with various slider (Steve already reported). Also you will be able to change the atmosphere from Finals to whatever (I guess regular season game), but option is locked in the demo. It is set on Finals and wow...you really think that you are in the NBA finals. The intro of the starters was great in my opinion. They have that kind of stuff in ESPN or ABC, too, with player doing their dances and show offs, so it just adds a great TV atmosphere. Player routines are fun to watch. The cameras angles, like the one before Tipp off are a thousand times better than in 09, since it's a typical TV-angle. The crowd is getting nuts. You’ll hear chants like "Go, Lakers, Go !!! and on the defensive side the audio sequences (organ or whatever you call it) along with the crowd screaming "DEFENSE!!!" for their lifes. lt is absolutely mindblowing. I actually wanted scream with them...The players where yelling on hard collisions and complaining. Have I already mentioned...just actually sitting in the front row in the Finals Game 7 of your favourite Team can top this. You guys will L.O.V.E. this!!!
Also I cannot wait to hear commentary. That was missing, (or turned off, I actually don’t know), but if that is on same level than the crowd then...you know...
Ok lets switch to gameplay. You have already seen some. I apologize if the quality of my gameplay doesn't suit you but Live 10 plays different and I am sure most of you guys will spend a couple of games to get into a routine of the controls, which have a lot to offer.
The responsivness on the dribbling moves is very good. I had trouble to find out which move on the stick actually performed a certain move in the game, but my player reacted mostly right away, which is a godsend for me after being tortured by 2k9 with neverending animations. Also the whole player movement is very responsive another step from 09 which already had been quiete good in that department.
On the other hand you have the chance to defend these dribblings with defensive assist on R1. It has nothing to do with Lock on/down. It simply puts some kind of bubble around the player in which he performs more responsive to the opponents moves. It makes it way easier to stay in front of the dribbler and prevents your player from making an unexpected move to the side because you maybe pulled the trigger 2° too far and Kobe can just drive by to the basket. I hope you understand what I mean, but bottom line, it feels better than anything offered in the past. One thing I can confirm is what Marcus said about the machups playing a huge role. THEY DO! On matchups between Fisher (me) and i.e. Carter I had to leave space in between, otherwise with the right move Carter would have screwed me badly. But with a little space I could increase my chances.
I also took Marcus’ advise to play on allstar. I don't know if it makes any difference in terms of how the AI-Players on your team respond in human vs human. If so, than I can reassure that it has been really hard to get into the paint and especially driving to the basket. The help defense was outstanding. Dunks were rare but rewarding at the same time. Speaking of defense. I played three times against the same dude, who seemed to play more sim each game (luckily). I wanted to see if I can really shut him down if I am concentrated and really focused and it absolutely worked! Unfortunately I got distracted by the atmosphere in the second quarter again, but it shows what you can archieve if you are focused. I guess that also means that you can easily beat cheesers online. I was impressed. However I did have trouble to defend him in the post with Howard everytime I didn’t have Bynum or Gasol right between him and the basket, but that might be the lack of control-knowledge on my side.
One thing I want to see is how much you need to tweak with the foul sliders. In the four games I only summed up 3 or 4 three throws (well it's just 4 minutes quartes, I know), despite the heavy contact/collision in the paint. We’ll see about that...
Another thing that caught my eye was how less mercy the game can have, which is a good thing. If I dribble right into a player the ball has been always stripped. If I played a stupid pass to a guarded player the chance was pretty high that the Ball got caught. It seemes that the AI player always respond to the ball. I never had an issue where I thought, "man how didn't he get that ball, or „why did he just ignore the ball" whenever it flew by. And talking about turnovers, I was pretty surprised about that "illegal screen". I don't know if that has been in 09 already but I think it's great that you have to wait till the guy who takes the screen is set before you drive.
The Rebounding is also solid. Boxing out hasn't always worked but alltogether the Game has Rebound knowledge and the animations look great. One or two crazy tipp ins were a little questionable and unexpected but, on the other hand I have seen things like that in the NBA by great hustle players, too.
I am really excited about the passing threat b/c, I’ve seen so many cool things with passing, but I couldn’t figure out how I pulled them off. Because of that I won’t get into details, but the options in terms of passing seem to be various.
I don’t have much negative to say about the game, except that it’s simply coming out far too late. There a some things here and there but it’s not more than nitpicking on a very high level (OS’s favourite!!).
One thing I noticed was the ball physics. They are alright, but the ball still feels a little too light when it drops on the rim for some reason. Some slidings but nothing to be worth getting on about.
Moreover it is a demo and it’s always hard to judge objectively. Once my PS3 embrasses the full game version, I’ll need to start all over reviewing because of the numberous additions. However as you can see I mostly pointed out positives b/c they really stood out, and that’s what was important for me to show you guys. I cannot wait to hear your opinions early september.
@MARCUS: I hope I haven’t given you nightmares. I know you are not really happy about the gamescom vids in general but I just feel bad for the guys at OS that ppl in Good Ol G get demo impressions and they don’t. However I tried my best to represent the game as good as possible (gameplaywise).
@PuntNL: I have seen various dates, but the most reliable infos stated that it would come out second week of oktober. Most games in Germany usually hit the store at a thursday (for whatever reason) and I think that last year we hadn’t been later than NA, too. So october 8th might be the HAPPY VALENTINE at least for me, but I don't know why it should be later in Holland...besides you can hop over and get it in Duitsland if we are earlier

Re: My Gamescom Demo Video
I actually wanted scream with them...The players where yelling on hard collisions and complaining.#RespectTheCultureComment
