Why don't sports game developers capture commentary this way?

Why don't they just put the two analysts in a "studio" and let them watch a game of Live/2K/whatever game in question?

Let them watch it and do commentary on it as if it was a real game, and apply their commentary to certain moments.

    I don't get it.

Because they need certain things said for common situations. It's a matter of time and money.

Why don't they just come over to my house, I'll turn the sound off, and they can announce right behind me as I play?
