How are the Live Servers?

I haven't played Live for years but after checking out the demo videos I will seriously consider making the purchase this year. I only have time for one bball and one football game so i doubt if I will buy both Live and 2k. I only play online and last year the 2k lag online made it horrible for me. How are the servers on Live? Any lag? As long as the game plays decent and if there is no lag, I may go with Live this year. Let me know!

Last year I played the majority of games online without any lag. Most EA games play great online.

Cool...I loved 2k last year but online was unplayable a lot of the time. I like what I see in the Live demo...I told myself last year if Live made a decent game this year I would make the switch if their servers were better.

Isn't 2k peer 2 peer? The don't have dedicated servers do they? I rarely ever had lag problems with 2k.

2k teamup mode was broken though and lagged constantly, but for regular games it was fine for me.

Bro, the framerate and everything was off on 2k. You had to release your jumper earlier than normal. It was a totally different game. When I play madden online and offline I cannot tell the difference...that's what I want with the bball game.

I played around 80 to 100 games online last year (PS3) and the servers from a lag persepective were great. I only remember likeone game having lag........but the guy I was playing(after doing some research) was from Germany....LOL.

The only slight problem last year (yes, it was far and few between but it did happen around 5 to 10 times) is when a quarter would end and the cut scene would begin.........the game wouldn't start back up, it would just sit there........

But it was more towards when Live 09 was first released and towards the middle. It seemed to go away after the allstar break sometime. I actually believe it was a glitch that some people learned how to do to make the other guy quit for a free win.

Anyways....as for lag or framerate....it ran pretty damn smooth.

Yeah, if 2K doesn't fix that, I won't even think about picking up their game.

I know EA will come through fine with the multiplayer.

I played the Live demo yesterday and it was cool. Light years ahead of last year. I just want a smooth playable game online. I think I'm going to buy Live and rent 2k after a while. 2k really lost a customer due to the poor servers. I mean there were times where it actually took me 5-10 minutes to just connect with another player.
