    Realistic ft %?

    Are they in the game??...I'm lovin the live demo...it's like a breathe of fresh air...but I really need the ft % to be real or else d Howard is gonna be too nasty...I'm the type of player to intentionaly foul a shaq/Dwight/ or even a big Ben when they in position to score in 2k and loved how it would actually work..

    I know what you mean. I wrote it in ncaa basketball suggestions thread as well.

    There should be some sort of realistic ft%, if not, you could easily throw realism out of the window.

    I hope they listen to us and add it with the first patch if it's not there.

      you guys have played a demo that's 2 quarters, 4 minutes each.

      Talking about percentages based off the demo won't do you any good guys. You'll see in the final version.

        I don't know if you all already do this but, I would suggest FT% based on the quarter it is. Please forgive my ignorance if you all already do this. Just a suggestion.

          I'm very confused by this thread. So I may not be answering your question. But AI controlled players always use their real life ft%. For user controlled players there's a slider if you're finding them too easy or difficult. Also if you just stand there and do nothing for a few seconds, your player will autoshoot the ft using his real life %.

              Also, percentage is taking into account all free throws taken. It's not he needs to shoot 50 percent every game. Just because he can't shoot free throws doesn't mean he can't go 4/4 or 10/10 for that matter. Because the next game he could go 0/10.

              I think ppl here get caught up in averages too much and not how things really happen.

                  I was talkin bout how in 2k you can turn it on and no matter what you do it shoots the realistic ft %...but you kinda answered it when you said if you don't do anything for a few seconds..looks like that's gonna be one of my house rules...when shooting freethrows don't press anything hahaha..

                    That's so untrue son. On 2k, I can make free throws with Shaq all day. It's mostly about the timing. If you release a free throw perfectly the majority of the time, you will have good success.

                      Wrong. There's a option to select to turn "Realistic FT%" on in 2k. Not on by default.

                        Just press on the D-Pad in any direction. Your player will immediately shoot their FT and use their %.

                        I don't know why they do it and if it is a bug, but that's how it works. I don't like. If it was by design, I don't like the decision made to have it work like that. You basically can't make any quick adjustments at the line without fear of your player just shooting on their own.

                            Yeah you should be able to make chgs from the time you get fouled up until the ref bounces you the ball. At that time you should have 10 seconds to shoot your freethrow (thats the nba time limit)

                            As far as the FT mechanic goes. I'm all for the t-scale (vintage live)....but if we're lookin for realism the way 2k does there freethrows is perfect, at least I have to practice everyones timing to make it. The way it is now makes no "basketball" sense to me.....What does a meter have to do with me making a FT. I say use 2k's mechanics and enhance it by using correct FT %'s and clutch ratings.....(use Synergy to see who makes FT's in the clutch)
