Re: New NBA LIVE Community Manager

Will there be an option for make the Right Stick movements absolute or relative?

Relative would be great for broadcast or sideline views.

It just makes sense that they would be relative to. Of course I have no idea of the programming that would be involved here.

    LS movement is relative
    RS passing is relative
    RS dribble moves are absolute.

Makes my tiny brain work just that much harder. I'll get used to it as it is, but it would be nice to have the option.

As FPS games have default or inverted, so sports games should have relative or absolute options

Yeah, I have trouble sometimes when I'm at the top corner trying to cross right but end up crossing left. Not really a big problem for me, but will take time to get used to.

Now maybe I can finally get an answer since Czar didn't know and the other guys didn't answer...

Is the dunk contest/3pt contest/all-star festivites back this year or were they scrapped?

The final version is definitely better than the demo version. I downloaded the demo the day it came out but I didn't get a chance to really sit down and play with it until Saturday (didn't get a chance to test the demo while I was a QA). While I enjoyed the demo there were definitely things in the final version that were more polished. One thing I can say for sure is passing felt better on the final version than it did on the demo.

I think you guys will be really pleased with the final retail version .

                    Sorry about the double post.

Man as much as I hated Live (EA) ever since they went next-gen (360/PS3), I am loving the direction Live (EA) has taken this year with much more involvement by the people behind the game itself.

We really appreciate you guys coming here and getting involved and listening to our concerns and feedback. I think the New Live team is going to create something special to come.

Why do some sports games release the DEMO a month early? And if you had a better build at the time of release why not use the better build?

Im curious because the other NBA game is doing it a week before RELEASE. That sounds smarter as a better product will make a sale.

Most likely a timing issue its not as simple as "oh heres a better build lets submit and it will be out next week" Wish it was simple like that. Also the competition hasn't shown 5 on 5 game play and the game comes out in 21 days, Just because the demo comes out later doesn't mean automatic sales boost.

And it's definitely not the greatest build, or a better build of the game.

I'm glad the passing is improved because the demo version is very sloppy watching the ball get thrown around as if 5th or 6th graders are making the pass. I finally got sick of it and set the CPU pass accuarcy to Max and boosted up their Hands on the Perimeter to make sure the sloppy ballhandling stopped.

I'd like to see how Chris Paul or Steve Nash reacts once they get into the paint vs the human defense. If I come over to provide help side defense I'd like to know that Paul or Nash's basketball IQ will show up and allow them to throw a lob to one of their bigs so othat they can finish inside.

I'd hate to see either guy not even recognize that they have two defenders coming at them and they still shoot because they failed to read the defense and see the open man or because their DNA in that situation overides their COURT SENSE and makes them shoot .

That was just one of the problems I encountered with not just Fisher and Nelson in the demo but even the backup PG's when I switched them into the lineup to see the behavior of the pG's on both rosters. It seemed like they were predetermined to make a that one pass which is the inital pass that the play calls for to start everything off......

If I jump the passing lanes or over play they got brain dead and still tried to force the ball or hold it they never reacted in away in which I would expect a PG to react when the pass isn't there and the play breaks down. I think this is something that should be addressed because all players should have some type of procedural awareness meaning the ability to read and react to the situation as it presents itself especially during situations when the shot clock is around 6-8 seconds that's still enough time to find a shooter but usually the guy with the ball is going to lauch it regardless.

I've also noticed some weird plays inside with Rashard Lewis if he doesn't get the ball he's not reacting to what the defense is doing to Howard. He should be taking advantage of the double team on Howard and look to go to a spot so he can get an open layup or either venture outside by himself to punish the defense with a wide open jumper.
